Sorry but two games in a row Child has penalised us twice in succession which has led to the opposition scoring.

Was the guy turned away by the club as a youngster or something?

It seems no matter what game or whatever we do Child just wants to penalise us.

I don't think he's biased, I just don't like the way he officiates, win or lose.

That was certainly a bad call from Child when he waved six more tackles when the ball was deliberately kicked to rebound off the Trinity player's leg No way did he "play at" that ball, and the penalty on the half-time hooter was pure farce. As it turned out it had a profound effect on the outcome of the game.

Think they're the only two I had issue with. The rest were just Child being his usual pedantic self.

Re: Match officials : Sat Mar 07, 2020 9:39 am
Egg banjo is the typical internet fan of this day and age...probably gobbed off all over social media about our coach and now we look to be turning a bit of a corner hasn’t got it in him to admit he got it wrong...club are better off without so called fans like him/her anyway...just a drain with their constant negativity...

If you break down what Chester has done for this club so far he’s done and is doing a fantastic job.

Two consecutive 5th place finishes with one of, if not the lowest budget in the competition.

Struggled last season with a horrendous injury crisis missing the majority of our best players for most of the season...good coaches don’t become bad overnight but when you just haven’t got the players to put out on the park things are tough...you only have to look at Tony Smith and Brian McDermott for that...two of the most successful coaches in super league trophy wise and now struggling at the bottom because they haven’t got the players...

Ian Watson too...took Salford to a grand final last year...lose a big chunk of his best players (like Chester did to injury last year) and all of a sudden they look to be struggling.

What Chester has done though is as well as the struggles we had with injuries he identified areas and players that needed strengthening and it has to be said...so far his recruitment this season looks probably as shrewd as it has in any season...we struggled right edge all last year with Pauli just not putting the effort in and Jay Pitts has slotted in there seamlessly...Westerman a type of player we’ve always missed...a classy ball handling loose forward who’s had an excellent start...people questioned his fitness, desire etc but he’s come to play without question...played just over an hour last night and topped the tackle count with 46 just one miss...against that huge Hull pack with so much quality that’s an outstanding effort.

Thought Walker looked good last night and is bedding into the side nicely...looked assured at the back and looks threatening joining the line...put Atkins in for his second with a peach of a pass! Thought Atkins was great last night too...has had plenty of stick but has certainly got a good season in him if last night is anything to go by...

Chris Green looks a good signing too...a big imposing lad and looks to have a really good offload to his game.

It’s not just the new signings though...it’s retaining the likes of Big Dave, Johnstone, Tupou etc...while Salford and Ian Watson lost their star players last year we’ve managed to keep ours.

I thought 2nd half last night we played some cracking stuff...maybe Egg Banjos mates (if they’re not made up) didn’t pass that on...but I thought we threw the ball about as good as I’ve seen for a while and really took it to a very good Hull side...it was one of those games that could have got away from us and ended in a heavy defeat but the 2nd half response was excellent and bodes well for the rest of the season providing we don’t have the type of injury crisis we suffered last season!

The main issue I have is what he doesn’t penalise !!! He pulled us for everything but chose to ignore head high shots and offsides from hull . Especially in that first half !! Fantastic recovery from Wakefield though .. played some really good rugby when we were allowed to !!

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Typical blinkered response from Upthecats, and views like his is why mediocrity is the best we can hope for. Chester has achieved nothing for the club and his win ratio and lack of silverware shows that, we've won 5 out of the last 20 league games. How anyone can defend that abysmal win rate is beyond me.

You may have also missed the part where I said that we had an improved second half, but still lost

Being fair some of the penalties against us in the first half were due to our usual dumb selves BUT there were two clear head shots Hull got away with and the penalty on the stroke of half time was laughable.
We were as good as Hull overall, scored more tries than them and DESERVED a point, but for the half wit who thought of the 'golden point' crap we'd have a point in the bag,.
I don't speak from sour grapes, I've been against the stupid rule since it came out. Another moronic call by compulsory seasonal rule changers.

And how on earth is it ever going to be any different when so called fans like you don’t go to games?

5,500 there last night on a Friday night...good following from Hull...we won our only other home game against Warrington and coming in off the back of a good win at Salford...

While Hull are going out and signing the likes of Jones, Fonua, M’au, Sao, Satae we’re signing the likes of Westerman, Pitts, Walker, Josh Wood...and you are slagging our coach off for not winning things?

Maybe the club should reflect on why they're getting such low attendances and listen to the fans which have stopped going instead of the ones who continue to go.
