There will still be COVID in Feb 2021. Therefore if people want this season cancelling then next should be cancelled too shouldn't it? Furlough is being wound down and ends in October at 60%. Players welfare comes first naturally. However common sense managing risk has to prevail. The players have more chance of dying driving to work than that of COVID. Even the highest risk of people in society still have far more chance of surviving than dying from catching COVID.
There are far more people with COVID yet hardly anyone is now dying of it currently. Is it 2/3 a day? COVID for quite some time has killied far more people indirectly through the lack of Cancer screening and treatment.
At some point life has to get back to normal. That's reality. If the players don't want to play for any club then I'd knock on the Chairman's door and request a compromise agreement and get another job. That's not me being ars*y as I've had friends and family scared to death of this disease.
Another reality is they who pays the Piper calls the tune. That's SKY TV. Track and Trace isn't perfect, the screening isn't, RFL, our club or the players aren't. But they're trying to manage it the best they can. Games will be called off, they'll be rearranged games and games at short notice. Accepting this isn't perfect but the best of a terrible situation
