Genuinely underrated player imho. Runs hard and straight, tackle really well and is generally big and hard to handle. Hasn’t shown an off loading game so far which I suppose stops him being noticed.

He’s what all clubs need, a hard working no nonsense prop. I know he won’t excite those who seem to think every prop we don’t have is the best in the world but he’ll do for me all day long.

We are a prop short still, it’s the only position I think we are short to be honest and my pref is still Battye but whoever we get so long as they graft I’m happy, let the rest of the team do the creating.

So we have

Fifita
Tangata
Green
Arona (who is more of a prop these days)
Tanginoa (emergency only)
Aydin (crisis only)

I’m happy with the players we have we are just short, 1 more deffo, 2 if possible.

MC said we were looking for a middle - but also said that EVERYONE is looking for middles.

Jordan Crowther was given massive praise - said that every other pack member wants JC alongside them.

MC said JC has massively changed his game and approach.

You could tell that just by looking at him. I believe he paid for his own extra training? If so it paid off big style and should be a lesson to all.

Fair play to the guy for the efforts he put in last season, even more so if he went the extra mile & funded extra training. However, I can’t help but think it’s a poor reflection of the conditioning at the club that he’s had to take this step.

That's a very strange thing to say.I wouldn't have bothered posting that point if I thought someone would use it against the club, then again I should have known

I can't think of any profession or activity where to get to the very top you don't do extracurricular work. Whether that be a night school class, extra time at the driving range or picking up an HGV license just in case. Do you think that all the stars of this that and the other have not done stuff off their own bat to get on, of course not? All students who are serious do extra studying, homework as we called it.

The club/employer has an equal obligation to all employees, how on earth would you expect them to find the time and resources to offer further training beyond what they probably already do to individuals? The club will offer a fairly generic physical training regime to all whilst spending most of its time and effort on drills and skills. It's up to the player to enhance himself further if he sees the need, JC clearly wanted to do so.

You wouldn't expect Amazon to train its drivers to drive faster and read maps better so they could deliver more parcels in an hour and thus earn a better peacetime rate, they only expect them to what's required anything else is a bonus too both. It's called pushing yourself, it's not obligatory but to be the very best it is a necessity IMNO unless of course, you are ridiculously gifted, I don't think JC thinks that.

Why you think that reflects on the clubs conditioning baffles me, they gave him what they felt was needed, JC felt he needed more. Good for him and good for the club for recognising it.

Will players and coaches, be able to resume training now or early new year, due to further lockdown restrictions until the end of next April ?. Every thing connected to sports seems very unclear at the moment. I’m sure regular testing of players/staff, for the virus will have to continue, this will cause massive disruption to training regimens, if anyone is found positive.

Haha me too ! We’ve all seen countless false dawns but this time I have a really good feeling that things are going to happen.
I witnessed all the success of the 60’s (and hope for younger supporters those times return!) but despite the success then I don’t think the management of that time could hold a candle to what the present regime have done.
The club is in safe hands at last, well done to all and hope it continues!

Jordan was sponsored by Joe Ralph personal trainer and got free sessions and other sessions for PT work he did for him, I’m sure that we all know that Wakey and most other SL clubs can’t possibly offer this service to every player, it’s just how the sponsorship worked at the time and the added incentive to prove himself that he was a first team player, a win win for all I think.

Great news for all the fans that at last there is light at the end of the tunnel regarding a ground fit for purpose .Personally I’d stand in a ploughed field to watch my hometown club ,but you’ve got to move with the times and this will really enhance the reputation of the club both on and off the field, and hopefully bring new faces to watch what I believe is the greatest game in the world bar none .

BLM i though Jordy had also worked / is working with Mathew Cook who is earning a great reputation in the sports science Pt world . I have seen videos of Jordy and TJ working with Mathew Cook who I understand also works with the England RU 7`s team. Again this would show great initiative by both Jordy and TJ to seek out the services of a specialist trainer to improve aspects of their game.
