The 2nd half break from Arundel down the short side was fantastic to watch. Also the break from Johnstone, backed up by Rocky for his try was worth the admission fee.
Yes we made mistakes and it wasn't the best game of rugby we've ever played but once again we defended multiple sets on our line on several occasions without conceding and that shows some real determination and spirit.

Clearly we have some disgruntled fans on here that see Chester getting a new contract and want to pick up on any negatives they can to convince everyone it's the wrong decision.

Whilst there was no score from that break, for me it was a major game deciding play. Wigan had just scored, they smelt blood and we looked very tired. That break relieved a lot of pressure and changed the momentum of that match.

Absolutely. We've played superbly in the past but lost the game by 2-6 points. The number of times I've walked away from a game and thought 'another 5 minutes and we'd have won'.

I think some posters are doing Wigan a disservice, too. Yes, it was a young Wigan side, but those youngsters weren't there to make up the numbers. They were representing Wigan and hope one day to be regular first teamers. They weren't just going to turn up and have their bellies tickled.

That’s a bit of a double edged dagger in Chesters back.

The defence has improved but Chester gets no credit and it’s all Last and Poching.

The attack while it wasn’t great did the job. Still it’s all CC fault for and not Last or Poching.....

Chester should take just as much credit for the defence as other coaching members and equally the same applies for attack.

I’m just happy that we have improved in our defence. There’s certainly been improvements since early season performances and hopefully we can kick on now.

The reason why fans are not giving Mr Chester any credit for the defence, is untill Last and Poching arrived the defence was like a sieve . Wigan had a lot of the ball through our mistakes, and the 6 more rule and think the ref was just watching us at offside. We would have not held out with the back room staff of the last few seasons .The three quarter line when T J went of was poor compared to when we had T J ,Lynn, Bish, B T, there for so long .Not having a go at any who played in the three quarters last night as the all gave 100% and Kershaw is getting there ,his defence and taking of the ball from kicks were good ,and looked the most improved player this year with Batch. And

Wigan have a pick of the best young talent. Remember Rocky signed for them even though he is from Normanton . However our youngsters outplayed their's last night. Fed up with all the negativity on here. I know for a fact that some of the biggest critics aren't even season ticket holders. That shows their commitment.I just hope the team don't read this forum because the comments do nothing to encourage players or coaching staff. We haven't got the best coach or the most talented players but they usually give 100 percent win or lose and I for one was entertained and encouraged by last night's performance.

I thought the same at the time. Was right up there with the Korki run. :D

I kinda wonder what the result would have been had TJ not been available.
Its all if's buts and maybe's of course but I think the loss of our 1st choices hurt us much more than Wigan.
That's not to say either side didn't field a competitive side, make no mistake Wigan came expecting to win regardless.
In isolation away from a million other incidents that could have affected the result, its interesting that a player that should really have been unavailable, made the final passes for both our scores in situations where just being the link in a chain wouldn't have been good enough.

Surely there is room for constructive criticism?

My big issue with the moaners is they moan before we've played which annoys the hell out of me. Post-match it's all opinions at least based on something that has actually happened.

Personally, I was delighted with the result but disappointed with elements of our game, ones that keep recurring and are unnecessary.

That said it would be churlish to say I'm not happy this morning, I am.

When Tom Johnstone is on the field I feel anything is possible and when he went off I did fear the worst.Full marks to the lads, they dug deep and fully deserved their win in an error strewn game.Like a few posters have said the transformation in the defence is amazing.Mind you, with the amount of silly, unforced errors we made,it needed to be.A mention for Pitts, who is playing out of his skin, and Battye, who returned to his best form and perhaps should be a starting prop on a regular basis.Really chuffed overall.
