Don't know if it's changed these days, but at one time each side that played Batley at Mount Pleasant were issued with crampons before the start.

Didn't Fev level their pitch off a bit when they last re-did the turf so while it still slopes it not as much? Sure i read that, might be wrong.

I think there was talk but I saw no evidence.

I was involved in the building of the first new Fev stand in 1985 and if you sit opposite it you can clearly see the slope and it’s a lot. It still looks the same to me.

Levelling it doesn’t look that difficult to me but what do I know.

Its not as steep as it used to be, i've played on it recently both before and after they tried levelling it out a bit, the bottom of the pitch is about 12" higher than it used to be, just another 3ft to go
