Right from the first drive from Dudson, where he got a little bit of attention, the tone was set.

Having said that, Saints then started to play "properly" but, Catalan just couldn't clear the red mist.

No doubt whatsoever that it was the game plan for Saints and Catalan had no plan B.

Mind you, they have some huge forwards that will dominate many of the sides that they face and we will need a clever plan to try and beat them. It certainly wont be down the middle of the park.

The key to beating catalans is to not get intimidated by their pack. Take the agression out and their pack is really nothing special at all. However, a lot of the games I saw last season, the opposition pack was just completely scared of the catalans pack which in turn, slowed their line speed. They arent some super human monsters that cant be tackled. James Roby who was the smallest forward on the pitch was tackling their big props with ease. Get in their faces with quick line speed and they have no plan B what so ever.

If I was a wakefield fan I certainly wouldnt be defeatist about next week in the slightest.

I thought you might be waxing lyrical about Tommy Makinson, he's certainly living up to the expectations of being the best winger in waiting to dethrone Tom Johnstone, btw did you compose this post in a hurry, because once again for somebody in the grammar police it's atrocious.

That's my point. as far as I can see WP has gone for mobility and fitness and I assume the game plan is not to attack down the middle whilst using the mobility of our smaller players to get up quick and close them down. Won't work every time but if they are committed, fit and well-drilled it can work.

I know I'm at odds with most people but I honestly think the day of the big player is over unless said player has other skills to match. Fifita in the positive and Chris Green in the negative, huge man who never broke a tackle or bothered a defensive line, big or small.

The saying a good biggen will always beat s good smallen is still true but I can count on one hand the genuinely big players in SL who fit that description.

Cats were awful tonight. Drinkwater and Pearce couldn’t wait to get rid of the ball like a hot potato. The amount of sets where cats just took a drive first receiver was ridiculous. The style of game they came with was bizzarre to continually drive it up centre.

On a plus Bousuet and Napa won’t be playing us and maybe Dudson depending how the striking is graded. We need all the help we can get if we are travelling 6 players down due to vaccine regs.

He'll be lucky to get away with a ban after that.

Really other than Saints I haven't seen a te we should not be able to compete with. I admit it's week 1 but the game has changed the last couple of years. For me it's all about discipline something we have not been the best at. Improve that use our assets around our speed and we should go ok.
