It’s a long old season and injuries, suspensions will all play a part in our performances, to be able to call up players who slot straight in without a drop in performance is all credit to the back room staff . We played without big Dave and Johnstone and toups , and that would have had a detrimental effect on the players and performances not so long ago in the dark period . But Willie has this squad believing in themselves and outplayed/outclassed a team where probably 4/5 of their players cost the equivalent of our whole squad , and that has been my argument all along ,it’s not the price tag on their heads it’s what beats in their chest that ultimately makes the player.
Can't argue with that but will add it's also great coaching. You can be a genius player but if you're not sure what your job is you can look awful. All our players seem to know exactly what is required of them and that makes everyone's life so much easier, especially the likes of Lino and Miller.
Powell IMHO is an exceptional coach but I think he's currently finding it very difficult to impose his structure on Warrington, credit to all in that Poching seems to be having no such issues so far.
Poching's handling of Murphy was spot on. That wasn't his normal game IMO, I think, and it's just my opinion is that he was given a very basic game plan and he stuck to it and it worked. Nice finishers try but his real contribution o this occasion was getting all the basics absolutely spot on, no attempt to thill, no goose-stepping on the outside just solid wing play - excellent. The time for Murphy to show his true potential will come but at least now he believes in himself.
