Pretty much my thoughts, let's hope that there is a 100% improvement (because there will have to be) and we can start with a win against the Giants. I think we're going to have to struggle through another season with what we've got and re-build for next season. I expect that TJ, Bill Tupou and Dave won't be with us next season, and probably more. About Tommy I'll be gutted but I wouldn't blame the lad for going. Surprisingly, we're still not bad off for threequarters, so hopefully can strengthen the pack to compete next season.
That’s the way I see it. We may see Fifita extend for 1 year I hope.
Murphy is getting valuable first team experience at least so he would be a good option for left wing next year of TJ doesn’t stay. Lad can certainly find the try line and will get better with more games.
I’d be looking at Tee Ritson from Barrow if possible for the right wing.

Why when we have Kersh to come back & Liam Kay now? As has been said, in the backs we are "ok" its the forwards where we need more players.

I was talking more next season planning.
I think we have a number of backs off contract in 2023. TJ, Croft, Tupou, Minns, Dave Tanivalu, Kay (though I see him as a 9 now). And though I think we are well stacked currently we need to be planning for 2023.
I think it’s about time for an overhaul of playing staff personally. I dread to think what our pack will look like next season. There needs to be some serious investment there.

Your right there will, because I think Arona is Off contract at the end of the season? I think we'd be pushing it to expect another season from him - especially playing prop.
Nothing much has changed, however it can if the players want it to.
Vasty about 4 to 5 years ago which is probably the last time I saw you we were having a conversation in the midst of a thrashing from catalan, we were hopeless but by some miracle managed to get on a run and throw some wins together. In the 5 years since its very hard to see where we are going as a team, if we're not going forwards there's only one direction were going. The recruitment at times beggers belief, you should only sign players as good or better than what you've got, Liam hood and gaskell are not better than ryan or kyle wood who could both change a game and make something happen, sid or whibred for Westerham, no Lyneham we will see, hall is OK but young and it will be lows and highs with him, so all in all we've a weaker team or squad. Then we look at end of season, arona, dave, Miller, tj, bt if we don't get as good or better were behind again. I don't know who is signing these players I hope it's not Carter but he should be saying are they better than we've got, complete madness when we needed forwards. I think we may just survive this season but its just monotonous now every year, we never try to build a side and identify what we need we just seem happy to float along and as long as its not bottom its fine. We've got some youngsters with potential but they never seem to get any further and be top top players who drag us up the table, they need some help.i saw one of carter's interviews where he said not many leave wakey and better themselves, well that comment sums up where we are we should be pushing players on to the highest level and if they go or stay its up to them. We carry on like this our luck will run out
I’d say let’s not worry what next seasons team will look like ,after all some on here have got us down for the championship , so the team will have very few familiar names left when the vultures have finished with us . Not wanting to sound like a broken record ,get behind the team this season has hard as it is at times, starting with Shudds this Thursday and you never know the gloom might have lifted a tad this time week . I’m sure poaching and staff will have one eye on recruits for next season ,but it’s difficult given the position we are in to even talk to quality players without being able to give assurances about contracts and the like . Players of quality will always come to the club ,they always have and I see no reason why that should stop as long as we keep in super league. It’s a long hard journey for poaching balancing the squad of today and get them up for the task ahead whilst also looking to the future with one hand tied behind your back . That’s why Me and the family will be cheering wakefield on just as we’ve always done ,players ,coaches the lot have come and gone in my time watching the club ,the only constant is me and my expanding family ,and through my dad ( god bless ) who supported them just after the war as a youngster and through the glory years , something I hope to do before it’s too late .

I know he said he’s playing for a contract and has given good service but we need to look elsewhere imo. Team needs a brush sweeping through it and sentiment can’t play a part. A number of the current crop will be remembered fondly for their efforts but we have a number of players wrong side of 30 in the forwards and need to be looking for the next generation to take us forward.
We are going around in Full Circles because it’s clear to everyone that there needs to be investment in the front row which has a serious lack of strength in depth.
I think Whitbread has performed reasonably well whilst playing out of position and not being a genuine prop.
One of the few genuine props of SL standard in the squad Fifita appears to becoming injury prone.
Ideally a prop loan signing would address the lack of go forward and benefit the team and give the supporters some optimism…
I fear that by the time Tupou is fit to play key games against similar standard opposition such as Toulouse will have been and gone making his position within the squad redundant…. A prop is needed not a three quarter….didn’t Anthony Tupou agree to his contract being ended early due to injury? Same with another back rower?
