I actually heard 3 different versions from the same person. First team, reserve team and loan at Dewsbury. I assumed reserves seemed the most likely. Guess we'll know for certain the next couple of weeks.

I seriously doubt the club will offer him a first team contract straight away.

I’m a fan and I think I started the thread before this one about the lad. But let’s get some perspective, he’s basically been on a gap year playing for a lesser bush team. The standard is not exceptionally high.

It’s not like he’s been a part of an NRL teams junior set up. He’s still an unknown quantity. Even a reserve contract is a gamble.

The kid has quality imho but a lot to prove yet.

As an aside, if we do sign him on a Reserve contract I’d much prefer him to play in the reserves than go on loan.

However that depends on how many Reserve fixture there are and how serious the opposition.

Personally I see little value in playing on an NL1 club unless that club had ambitions and had signed players accordingly, see no evidence at the Rams.

Think for me we should be sending 2/3 out on loans to top championship clubs to grow where possible.

Players like Windrow and Bowes would benefit the most I feel. Can they play for trinity reserves and a loan club if there’s only a reserve game every fortnight? Maybe dual registration is the way to go with a club like Batley? So a few reserves can play at Batley/Dewsbury etc when no game that weekend. Worth considering for players development.

Problem is you’re taking them out of the Trinity regime and if Mash is as good and methodical as I hear then that might not be great. Bad habits, bad attitudes can creep in. I’ve never liked DR or loaning out for that reason, just my opinion.

Apart from Toulouse, all the other clubs are part time so they'd still be training with us during the week. Watching today, I don't think Eseh is ready yet either. Maybe drip feed him the odd game but physically I thought Windrow looked the most likely to step up.

Get what your saying but hasnt done butterworth or esah any harm,a handful of games wont help development for any of lads least some of academy lads get to double up and play reserves

Thought both looked ready tbh.

However you’d expect a SR to break through quicker.

Truth is Eseh is on the bottom rung so is unlikely to play overly regular unless we have a crisis. He’s still got a bit of youth about him I agree, I also agree Windrow looks a right bruiser.

We are quite strong now in props.

Atoni
Battye
Bowden
Butler
Whitbread
Tanginoa Yes if needed
Eseh

Also I might be wrong but I don’t think the guy in the Bowden shirt was Bowden, was it Schofield, if so he looked useful.

Yeah I thought we looked a big side and I don't think we have for 2/3 years. We've probably got more depth in the pack than we've had for a while, and the three quarter line was probably hr biggest I remember us ever putting out. I won't keep going over my thoughts on hookers, but I'd be happy going with Hood and Morgan Smith.

It definitely wasn't Bowden, I assumed it was Schofield by the process of elimination. Another big lad and put himself about a bit.
