With Terrys admission to this i believe the club has no option but to terminate his contract with immediate effect. We have to send the message out that this will not be tolerated at our club.
We can then concentrate on the good things that are happening at the moment in that we are currently top of super league, have the best academy in the land and a fantastic stadium in the pipeline! Roll on Saints!!
Its all well and good giving Newton loads of grief for how in what should have been one of our club's proudest weeks in our recent history, he has single handedly managed to ruin not only his reputation as being one of the most experienced players in British rugby league and grinding our name as a club into the dirt. If he's found guilty for definate, then Mr Newton deserves all he gets and should never be allowed to play for another club again. Although that said, questions have gotta be asked about the drug taking procedure and its findings in this country, without condoning Terry's shameful actions. I find it outrageous that something which was carried out in November is only being brought to light now as there is a situation that has caused major embarrasment for all parties. If the anti-doping authorities knew about the test results in November, which surely they must have done, they should have contacted the RFL and ourselves to inform us that we could not field a player as he has broken rules on performance enhancing drugs. In future if anything like this happens then the results need to be made public with at least a week or at the very latest ten days to avoid another ridiculous situation like this whereby Wakefield Trinity have been fielding a player under false pretences. Whichever way you look at it, if this development does not give UK Sport and all the other sporting organisations in Britain the urge to radically shake up and reform the procedures and the rules about drug tests and the time it takes for results to be made public then tell me what will, because after all when it comes to offenses like that, a player is either guilty or not guilty and either way, lets hope that such a situation involving us never arises again.
I just put HGH into google and it just shows how ready and available this is, and from a page by the times on line the is a good write up explaining about HGH and this is a snippet from the bottom
NATURAL WAYS TO BOOST YOUR HGH
— Lifestyle changes can boost HGH naturally, says anti-ageing guru Dr Cecilia Tregear of the Wimpole Skin Care Centre in London. Here’s how:
— Get 8 hours’ sleep a night. HGH production relies on getting a good night’s rest.
— Drink as little alcohol as possible.
— Eat organic protein such as red meat, chicken or fish with every meal. The amino acid lysine in protein stimulates HGH production.
— Eat as few grain-based foods as possible – get your carbs from vegetables and fruit instead.
— Avoid anything that contains sugar.
— Exercise regularly – moderate exercise stimulates HGH production, but excessive exercise has the opposite effect.
— Keep stress to a minimum, as it uses up HGH.
— Cut down your exposure to pollution and pesticides, which can affect the endocrine system.
But Durham as you say it speeded up his recovery, others have to wait until they recover naturally, therefore gaining an unfair advantage, ie cheating, whether it be pre season or mid season it doesn't matter, he has taken a banned substance to gain an unfair advantage. He's held his hands up but in my opinion he had no other option, you can't argue with a blood test (its even more accurate than a lie detector test on the Jeremy Kyle show lol). Not only does it speed up the healing process, here's some other facts about the 'positive' effects of HGH:
8.8% increase in muscle mass on average after six months, without exercise 14.4% loss of fat on average after six months, without dieting Higher energy levels Enhanced sexual performance Regrowth of heart, liver, spleen, kidneys and other organs that shrink with age Greater cardiac output Superior immune function Increased exercise performance Better kidney function Lowered blood pressure Improved cholesterol profile, with higher HDL and lower LDL (reduces risk of heart disease) Stronger bones Faster wound healing Younger, tighter, thicker skin Hair regrowth Wrinkle removal Elimination of cellulite Sharper vision Mood elevation Increased memory retention Improved sleep
No excuses MR Newton, you've been a silly silly man, you won't be the first and you certainly won't be the last (unfortunately). Thanks for your efforts but we'd have prefered them to be more natural. Respect for the way you have praised the club in their handling of the situation and I sincerely hope your apologies come from the heart and not out of the shame you feel about being caught out.
such a shame he has let so many people down but more than anyone he has let himself down most of all, he looked great last week talking and getting the players up in the warm up looked like he had fitted in well and become a valuable member of the squad that not only the young ones but senior members of the squad listened too for what he had achieved in the game. whats done is done now time to move on we as a club have no alternative now but to terminate his contract hope we look in to getting a good second rower as a replacement i think we can cope at hooker .
I hope they get relegated. Their fans are idiots.

honest to god your like a big and not very bright child.

It's still been a great week and a great season so far. He's been a Wakey player for all of 5 minutes and most of us would not have given him the time of day before he signed for us. Lets concentrate on the things that are going well and the players that are actually playing for us rather than let some bloke we really couldn't give a stuff about 'ruin' our reputation.

To be honest I think Newton could have played a really important part in our season and he would have been great for the likes of Davey and Southernwood's development. As it is he will no longer be part of the club and as you say we have to move on and concentrate on the good things that are happening at our club. All in all a crying shame, and in honesty probably a bit more of a blow to our season than many of us would like to believe.
'That is why no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party.... So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin'
just because the rules are as they are doesnt mean they are right. Nor does it mean those punished by them get 'everything they deserve'
It isnt WADAs place to start moralising on any issue
very well put imo. i can understand why the clubs would want to know and punish players but i can not see why the RFL or any governing bodies should be getting involved.
I can not and will not condone Terry Newton for his course of action that has brought this situation about but I do hope that when the experts make a further statement on Monday it also heralds the start of his ban so that his life is not in limbo and so that he can make plans for his future. Snowie has referred to Dr Cecilia Tregear of the Wimpole Skin Care Centre in London. She,as part of an experiment has used the HGH for 3 years and states it's benefits Timesonline -paras 10-11 It does seem easily accessible and actor Sylvester Stallone also comments on his use of HGH and if you search, the web informs of the side-effects. I hope this whole sorry episode galvanizes the players into winning some silverware, particularly for those who have an older biological age that Terry Newton. I do have sympathy for him and I hope his lapse is turned into a positive not only for him but for as many others as possible.

Whatever you may think of Newton he was a dedicated and hard working professional who reached the top in his RL career. Hopefully people will let him be.
