Wakefield has already lost its professional rugby union club, has no pro footy team and now could be the beginning of the end for professional rugby league.

Yet no-one gave a toss about Wakefield RFC when they were at College Grove for around a century, and no-one went to see Wakefield-Emley so they went off to College Grove because Belle Vue was too expensive to have 200 fans rattling around in. If the citizens didn't care, why should they be saved?

Let's face it, they are pawns people are using as 'why Wakefield is crap now' when they are irrelevant.

And on Box, if he sold his 40p shares, would it make any difference?

Some of you will be wondering why we didn't come clean earlier about our involvement in this.

This was all meant to be kept as a private matter - with any announcements only coming via agreed worded statements. One man has decided to open Pandora's Box (!) and open this up to public debate. His reasoning is to try and force the clubs to agree on a process that they cannot. He is now playing hard-ball with the packets of land offered to both clubs - and this from someone who purports to support Rugby League in the district.

We will stay strong - as we - the club / trust / developer - still believe that this can be done. 8)

Are the council members of your the Community trust, if they are it would seem they are not as confident as you.

I would assume you will need the council onside with the project to get it through planning. Which makes your statements against Box a very risky strategy, and it would seem that the only card left you have to play is the blame the council card.

The problem really lies with your club and its let some body else sort us a stadium out. Castleford have took control over their own destiny from day one, no of this let the council sort it, or let yorkcourt sort or Sir Rod. As for your bitterness over Thornes park, my old man works there for the college and when the speculation of a stadium started he and other members of staff went and asked the principle and were told categorically from day one that the college would not be vacating the site before 2012. You may not have been in the loop, but your club were happy to go along with Thorne park because if the facts had of come out sooner, you would not be in Super league now. You should be grateful that the council continued to make it look a goer until after the licenses were handed out.

You have also shown yourself to not be interested in community facilities for the whole district, not just Wakefield and the Wildcats, through your shunning of Glasshoughton, lets face it the only concern you have is for WTWC superleague future.

And to finish here is a straight forward question for you. How much in a percentage or the total funding package have York Court actually promised in a legally bending contract?

I ask you this as their is seems to be much confusion on here as to the funding, most seem to think York court are providing most of it if not all, and I have notice you seem in no rush to dispel any myths, so if this is the last thing you ever communicate to me. How much are York court putting in and how much is reliant on other funding.

Yes, and anyone in the same position would be doing the same?

As it is, there's a small snippet on the YEP website saying that an independent feasibility study is going to be started.

The council claim that they will only back one stadium with the value of the land loaned to each entity merged to form one pot. The ‘cost’ to the council will be no less. Initially £4m will still go into one project as opposed to £2m into two.

One stadium is fundable with the facility to raise capital against this land whereas the other isn’t. The question has to be asked, what is the motivation for this change of stance when it will not ‘cost’ the council any less and would it have happened if the boot was on the other foot? If they were completely withdrawing one of the parcels of land available then I would still be annoyed but I could make sense of it.

Trying to look objectively at the most emotive of issues.....I fully understand why GH, towards the very eastern border of WMDC, is a no go for the vast majority of Trinity fans. I also accept that, geographically and travel wise Newmarket looks less of a problem for Cas fans but most may not get passed the notion that it is Wakey's project, Wakey's stadium. With hindsight we've probably all been too blinkered to see that a shared stadium jointly planned from start to finish was the only sensible way of avoiding the godawful mess we're now in.

It’s been well publicised that the land loaned to both clubs would go some way to partially fund the new stadiums. It was the councils offer to both clubs. Now they are withdrawing the offer to both clubs to form one pot as one stadium is having funding issues where as, subject to planning permission, the other has the necessary backing.

its more than the funding. I am sure Newmarket could happen even without it. Its the rest of the support that counts. Perfect example is the delay in planning being caused by WMDC. Its things like this that they have direct control over and which have a massive influence. Box needs Newmarket to fail in order to complete Glasshoughton and that is what worries me.

That does not answer the question. Or are you saying that if the stadium cost is £20 mill and the land is worth £2 mill then York court are putting in 90%.

What I am trying to get at is are these the only 2 funding sources for the project ie York court and the land or are their other funding streams.
What percentage of the funding are York court putting in?
