Ey up Snowie, In what way is it not the flu. Both, just like the common cold, are a corona virus. Bet you didn't know that did you? Both effect us in an astonishingly similar way with a 99.7% survival rate. Death, unfortunatley is death whatever the bug.
What investigations have you carried out to come to any other conclusion?
Or do you just watch the BBC and read the Sun.
Geeez, I thought I would be challenged on here tonight but no such luck.

Antigenic Drift and Shift With the Flu Virus Understanding how the flu virus changes over time
When a major antigenic shift like this occurs, very few people have any type of immunity to the new, or "novel," flu virus. When flu pandemics have occurred in recent history, they have been due to antigenic shift. Once such example is COVID-19, coronavirus disease 2019. Fortunately, these shifts occur only occasionally, having caused only a handful of true flu pandemics in the past century. Major antigenic shift only happens to influenza A viruses. Influenza B viruses only undergo antigenic drift.1

Derek Gillespie 4 days ago I have to put my two cents in: I'm a Nurse and I am in contact with patients every single day. Multiple patients from every age range and with a myriad of diseases / conditions. Our facility has made mask wearing mandatory for all patients and all clinical staff. It is really quite simple to find out that masks do indeed decrease Oxygen concentration in the blood. I have had normally healthy patients present to us daily and my assessment of them includes vital signs. I've noticed pulse ox (oxygen saturation) dropping with almost every one. Some as far down as 88% ( to which I told this nice lady to remove her mask; it then went to 96%). Its that simple really - put a mask on. Walk for a few minutes (to increase pulse and resp rate). Check your pulse ox. It will be low! Yet some people are still adamant in insisting that it does not decrease oxygen levels! Do they even see patients in actual practice??
From the WebMD website: “When your body doesn't have enough oxygen, you could get hypoxemia or hypoxia. These are dangerous conditions. Without oxygen, your brain, liver, and other organs can be damaged just minutes after symptoms start. Hypoxemia (low oxygen in your blood) can cause hypoxia (low oxygen in your tissues) when your blood doesn't carry enough oxygen to your tissues to meet your body's needs. The word hypoxia is sometimes used to describe both problems.” You notice that it says “JUST MINUTES AFTER SYMPTOMS START”? Throw the damn mask AWAY!!! ?
Steve Terry 5 days ago My wife who was a nurse was shocked today when i told her all the staff at Sainsburys are now wearing masks, when she was a nurse she wasnt allowed to wear a mask for more than 30 mins because of the risk of hypoxia
I work in a well known pharmacy. Today the pharmacist told me to tell people they have to wear a mask. I asked will they be refused entry without one. She said no. So an old dear came in that was scared stiff and having problems breathing. I told her to take it off, and keep it off. She said she did not know about the policy of the shops she goes into and she was such a wreck. Needless to say I told her her rights and how important it is to breath freely without a mask as a queue of zombies looked on in disgust. I gave her her meds, she thanked me and tore the mask from her face and left smiling. I did it again and again and I will do the same tomorrow.
When I was 17 I work in a job which required the wearing a mask for most of my 8hr shift. By the end of 7 months I had asthma, regular throat and upper respiratory infections, it took almost two decades to go back to normal. MASKS!
The asthma nurse admitted to my husband that the reason that the doctors are seeing so few people is that they can only wear their masks for two hours a day. It makes them feel ill wearing it for longer. My husband had quite an argument with her. An asthma nurse that admitted that she KNOWS this is lowering the immune system is ‘going along with government guidelines.’
just went to the bank - queued up as usual these days......as I entered, a lady asked me "have you got a mask"? I replied, "no - I don't wear one". "Is that for a medical reason"? she asked.......I gloried in the opportunity to use a phrase I saw from another comment: "yes, I suffer from sanity"!!!! Lost for words does not describe her reaction!!!! As I finished using the "paying-in" machine, I left and said, "thanks guys - have a good day". The same lady said, "sorry - we have to ask".......I felt a twinge of pity for her....bless her, she is only doing what she is told.

'I work in a well known pharmacy' reads like a rejected draft of a Mills & Boons 'tore the mask from her face and left smiling' hopefully to live a longish life.

If I do any exercise or physical work I get out of breath. Are you telling me this is dangerous?
Your stories ring all the fake news alarm bells. People, locations and times are all deliberately vague. Give specific examples of real people. Jon Wells getting slightly out of breath running up stairs with a mask on is not hypoxia. It's the body's natural reaction to an increased demand for oxygen.
Of course there are some people with existing breathing problems who may struggle to wear a mask, but surely they should be shielding anyway?

Sorry, but plastic face visors/ shields do not provide a safe alternative Pop Tart. Just google " do plastic face visors provide a safe alternative to face masks" here is just one website http://www.healthline.com with results. there are plenty of others from medical sources disputing the efficency of plastic visors from protecting the spread of covid 19.

I can't find where it says that on your link. What it does say is that masks work by forming a physical barrier to stop droplets of getting from someone's mouth to your nose or mouth. A visor does that doesn't it.
A mask is nound to be better but that doesn't mean a visor doesn't work. It's standard hospital equipment.
