It's not a matter of being criticized for not doing something its what they've already done. Just been reading about a discussion between Paul Sculthorpe and Kevin Brown and both said Wakefield are already gone. They can't do anything it's too late.
If we hadn't had Forber we would have had to name an injured player. Mason was here because Bowden and Tanginoa weren't ready.
Some were because we needed something different.
Senior came because we lacked speed. That wasn't quite the answer we hoped for but not his fault. Milnes is here because we lack creativity and Smith had made some errors. Normally you'd have a backup to drop Smith but the others are injured. I think Milnes is a good addition.
But my point that you refer to, is that the board will get criticism no matter what they do.
Your first instincts are always to defend the club, the decisions they make etc. That's not a criticism of you at all, it's just you, i'm not saying you haven't criticised and disagreed, but generally you don't. I do get you, that if we hadn't done anything at all to at least try and make things better, then some would have been up in arms, we all know some just moan and complain at everything, and if we had won every game 100-0 they would have no doubt found fault!
But I guess because we are in such a desperate situation, then so far these are desperate measures, so like you were criticising others' for using terms like sticking plasters etc.....that's exactly what they are!! I suppose your argument would be, and maybe the club's, is loan signings don't cost anything do they? So nothing ventured nothing gained, if we haven't improved things, then we were no good to begin with, and it's cost us nothing so at least we tried?! Where as, sacking the coach, does cost the club financially?!
You mention the Mason signing, basically saying we were short on props, yet we loan Butler out and bring him in?! The Dagger/Hall thing, the club giving players' time off when maybe better spent trying to improve things by spending time on the training field? You can see why people get fed up, p****d off etc, because at times it comes across that we just lose the plot half the time......

My intention isn't to protect the club. More to balance the discussion because there is so much anti club feeling which then sometimes misses the good things actually going on.
I have plenty of negatives but they've usually already been said. I certainly don't like the Hall deal. It was a massive risk that hasn't really paid off yet. Atoni and Proctor....who was to know that wouldn't work. There was a risk with Proctor but why wouldn't you get a seasoned international and NRL champion in your club when you need leadership on the field.
I'd also say, my frustration with some posts is the implication that the club don't know or care about the issues.
I bet if you look at pictures of Mash when he took the job to his interviews now he's aged. It's a stressful job even when you are winning. Same with the board. I'm pretty sure they are working their behinds off to make things better, but the opportunities to do so are limited. I don't see the point in beating them up about it.
Nowt to do with Applegarth the kids a tryer he thought he'd 2 or 3 aussies mingled with what we had could have done something we've been spoilt by lads like solomona Sam obst korkidas semi not big names but good players you can't educate pork and our aussies are here for the brass as much a surprise to mark as us but hey what do you do

Because we are we all dont want it but we are we average 5pts a game how can we survive, maybe blood youth but then again wed rather play lower leagues rejects than our own

Proctor does not look fit and should have been working his ass off to get fitter during the break along with Atoni..:

Imo Proctor is in the same boat as A Tupou , outstanding careers in the NRL, consummate professionals , but really needed to hang their boots up ,as both have found out it’s a bridge too far .In the Tupou case he left before the end of his contract ( don’t know the inns n outs ) . But I don’t see proctor doing the same unfortunately.Yes he’s not playing around the sort of quality he’s had in the past and must be frustrated at times by the poor performance in the team , but it’s plain for all to see he’s not a patch on who we expected ,and could easily have been replaced by say windrow with no loss of performance whatsoever . Of all the years to pick up duff NRL players to bolster our depleted ranks ,it had to be this with the IMG proposals being ok’d we now decide to implode spectacularly.

Well clearly all signings are made with the best intentions! But you have to have accountability in all aspects of life. As re. Applegarth, i'm sure lots of people on minimum wage just trying to survive would gladly swap with him on his salary, for being involved in a sport he loves, it would be an unobtainable dream for most to be either a player or coach in professional sport. If it's too much he is allowed to walk away and give someone else a go? We are now on a hiding to nothing, it's obviously very long odds that we will get out of this now, and you are right going on and repeating the same stuff about they shouldn't have signed Proctor etc is pointless.....but, he and Atoni don't have to be selected by the coach? He was quick to ditch Lineham after 2 games, and he hasn't been seen since. I don't know whether 17 games left is a good or bad thing?! We simply have to beat Hull, then win ALL of those home games in June at least, and that is a massive longshot, but I suppose human nature is still telling me we have a teeny weeny chance of getting out of this.....
