Hmmm!
Kind of lost touch a little bit with the goings on there. I know the council are trying damned hard to give them a leg up to try and keep the clubs on something of an even keel - but of the two, NM is now the clearest route and it will be interesting to see things play out following the announcemnt.
I suspect that the spin war will continue until the foundations are being poured - and then a bit more.
I should note that I have stated all along that my vision of the future includes both clubs playing in separate new stadiums and that I would love our 'derbies' to be bigger and better as a result!
I'm with you on that. I have no desire to see Cas go bump, provided that they don't survive at our expense. It has gone awful quiet over there, to say that they were in detailed talks with people about a supermarket or whatever. As said above, it will get noisy again when we get some good news.
The best news ever would be to see concrete being poured at Newmarket at the same time as Cas finally raise the funds, although that would be a dark day at RFL HQ.
Having said that, if we were the only top flight club in the Wakefield area, we would attract some very hot local talent.
