Have a look at the 2005 Hull FC Challenge Cup team.
Might be an indication of why we're interested in signing Brough?

Because of how good he was 13/14 years ago? Well Hull soon got rid after even with his peak years ahead of him.

He was a good player but he is not that player anymore. Some spark may remain but the temperament is well and truly there still.

I don’t get it, in the live video to unveil the shirt someone confirms we’ve signed Brough and they went along with it with no questioning but nothing official from the club

Errr? No, because of who was on the bench that day.

Eleven days since this thread was first posted. Why is it taking so long to complete the deal (if there is one) and which party is the one holding the proceedings up?
For two or three seasons now we have been crying out for a half back who could give us a good kicking game and win matches. Well, it looks like there is one waiting at our door. His particular skills are well known to every one. so GET HIM SIGNED, PLEASE!!!!

Well I'm not that good with dates but didn't Hull also get rid of Kear and he did ok for us for a good while.

Bang on and it will all come down to the job that Chester wants him to do and how well he actually follows that remit.

It's strange how we trust the coaching staff with some signings and yet seem to get brain overload with others.
Chris Chester has done a great job so far and it's hard to see why/how we can question his judgement with any signing.

For me, we still come back to having Finn as our starting HB last season and there weren't too many complaints.
There is some tricky balancing to happen with the squad. Keeping our pivots happy wont be easy as we seem to have 2 more players for the same number of starting berths in the side and you have to assume that IF Brough has signed, it would mean Hampshire playing some time at FB.
All if's and but's at the moment though as nothing seems to have been announced yet ??

You’ll have to ask the person who started the thread why it’s taking so long? Maybe it’s because it was posted the day I went on holiday with no foundation?

I think it was dboy who said on here that the deal was Grix +1 as the deal for Brough! It could well be that the + 1 as not yet agreed term with Huddersfield therefore this could be holding up the deal, just a thought.
