Sorry to be a bit abrupt/naive about this,but as this is the single most important thing in the clubs history it  naturally interests me greatly. However as I like many others, don't have any experience in this field, can anybody in the know answer me the following:

What was the original reason for the Newmarket development being called to a public inquiry? Am I correct in thinking this was due to objection by Leeds City Council, the Highways Agency and Natural England?

Is it now the case that LCC stand alone as the only statutory objection and that the other two have been satisfied?

Is it still possible that the objections of Barton Willmore on behalf of X could also put a stop to it?

Do LCC have any one reason for objection or can they just state as many things as possible hoping that a tally of negatives outweigh the positives? I suppose what I'm trying to ask is if one specific thing is met will their claims be void?

Which leads me into as was offered today, the LDF decision is to now be received in February. If the land at newmarket is reassigned B8, will this immediately and before a report is submitted to the secretary of state knock out all remaining arguments by LCC, BW and anyone else? At that stage will their be any remaining reason why the Secretary of State can say no?

If anybody can and does answer this I appreciate your time.

My understanding is that they don't have to have one specific objection; it seems they are using a scattergun approach to try to convince the Inspector that there is no 'special circumstance' to allow the development to take place on green belt.

I asked this earlier today; the opinion seems to be that the SoS will still be required to make a judgement, but the redesignation of the land as part of the LDF would give him a powerful motivator to give the thumbs up to the development.

looks like lcc are being made to look stupid, they reckon 3000 jobs and are questioning travel which has already been covered.

He lives in Methley & I said I was happy to RT his opposing views, it is good and fair to understand and see someone else's opinion and take on the PI. The problem is, unlike James, he is not telling you whom is saying what and when. The majority of the points he has made so far come from the LCC's barrister mouth, but he doesn't say that... so he starts being more factual or we will not RT!

Are LCC getting their backsides kicked, as appears to be the case?

Also, have Look North responded yet, given that they're reporting this morning that West Yorks has the highest unemployment rate in the country, and at least 3 people have replied to their tweets suggesting that in that case, they may want to report on why LCC are trying to block 200 jobs at NM, at a cost of c£250,000 to the LCC tax-payer?!

Which Conservative would you reccommend writing to about the development? Cameron he will probably see the letter after the decision lol. ? Any suggestions

That ship has sailed I think - all the hard work is now being done in the PI.
