I'm with you on this one. The only people who will make the special trip to the club shop are the same people who would pay £20 to get in on match day. So you end up with the same fans getting in cheaper and the on-the-day price putting off everyone else.
It's not so much having a casual interest - I've been a supporter for 45 years and I go to as many games as I can. But, living in the midlands means that a) I can't nip down to the club shop and b) I don't always know that I can make it to a match until that weekend. £20 is a stupid price to ask people to pay and, much as I hate to say it, I think I'll go to more away games than home ones this season.
