to be fair vasty no one has every doubted the on form bj was great, but he was in his first spell here the most inconsistant player i have ever seen, basically there was no grey he was either great or invisible.
we all saw the games, we all form opinions, and of course, we are all right!
I'll put it this way. Under JK we have become quite used to being in contention for the top 6/8. We are almost expect to have point in the bag after the first few games.
No that long ago I remember us not having 4 points in the bag halfway through the season,
This with the exception of 2004 were the inconsistent teams BJ played in. IMHO all things are relative.
The team BJ finds himself in now is a whole different animal. BJ will still have off games but because others are there to take the strain we hopefully will not even notice. This is the same way Price gets away with it at Saints, some games he is invisible but he is still a start and still a player you would want. BJ will enjoy life IMO more at BV than he did last time because not all hope rest on him, when he slips Brough, Obst, Morrison or any number of others will hopefully take the strain. No more having to carry most the burden whilst trying to work miracles in some fairly ordinary teams. Even 2004 was a bit of a fluke. If he was inconsistent he was the norm for some very inconsistent teams, how inconsistent was Solomona, but he somehow got away with it.
Hope that clears it up, and I hope all the players get the support they deserve.
