Re: PACE!! : Tue Jul 18, 2017 7:39 pm
I totally disagree with the thought that the pressure is off if Huddersfield beat Hull...

I see this as a massive game and a huge opportunity for us to make a statement...we're playing well and have been great at home this season...we've quality players available for selection trying to dislodge players who are playing well...

Saints have a woeful away record this season of just one win from 10 games but they fancy this! Reading what their fans are saying they fancy this and think this will kickstart a push for the top four...basically it's a huge game for them...almost like a play off game feel...

If we can beat Saints it opens up a very healthy five point gap and will show that in a big game against a fancied side we can produce the goods...if we lose they move within a point and will get the away day monkey off their back and give them lot s of confidence going forward...

I've not looked forward to a game as much as this for ages...I believe in this team this year and can see us making a big statement on Sunday in what is a massive game in my eyes! Hope the fans turn up in big numbers...I can see a good following from Saints for this!

I agree with everything that you have posted " up the cats " apart from the Saints following bit, I think the attendance from the so called big clubs as been disappointing this season.

Exactly my point too. Includes a home tie with Cas. From a financial point of view Shudds beating Hull is a must.

He's played over a hundred games for us and Hudds mainly at 9. How many games exactly do you need to be a specialist no9 as you put - seriously I deaspair at times

Wood is most certainly a hooker, although we could definitely use another one considering he's basically the only one in the squad. I think he's probably the player I'd least like to get injured in the whole squad, we'd be absolutely screwed if he was out.

Salford could throw a spanner in the works by losing at Leigh. We could end up third. We would sit prettier in 3rd with the 4 homes games but lose the home tie with Cas.

This weekend's games' are all about the pecking order for the super 8's, IF we can beat Saints and the other 3 Friday night games go our way shudds Leigh, and Leeds, a big if I know but that would certainly take a lot of pressure off us and put more on Hull and Salford our biggest threat for a top 4 finish.
Tbh it wouldn't bother me too much if we lost a home tie with Cas, working on the belief that we would finish up playing a lesser team.

I'm just thinking of the money. Home tie with Cas v home tie with Salford. 3k difference in crowd???
Also better chance of beating them on a full size pitch.

Bizaarely we could quite easily lose and finish 3rd or win and finish 4th.

People seem to be forgetting that the point totals are carried over, the more points the better as far as I am concerned.
