Can you all just stand back, have a look at the wider picture and consider what is happening here.

will start by saying they are not winning the battle. This is just a skirmish. The club have sat back from any media announcement but it doesn't mean things are not happening. However by remaining silent, it has caused WMDC to make two ridiculous outbursts to the press. Further press comments by other journalists that are ill researched and can easily be re butted. But best of all 88G have already started 'to shoot their load' and without lifting a finger they have bitten and took the bait. They have now shown what type of people they really are. What their intentions really are and how we should not believe a word they are saying. Let them carry on blurting out like spoilt kids because all they are doing is revealing their true hand and loosing total credibility. All of this and we have not done anything !!

They have won the PR battle which i've feeling was their plan. And as nature abhors a vacuum a lack of response gave opportunity to hammer the point home with the wider public and casual Wakey fan. Thats done now, i doubt anything we could counter with would wrest that back. I'm not sure it was news that 88M are in bed the other side, it just confirms what we thought. But to people outside of this forum they don't see that and neither do the general populous with no rugby interest particularly care. I doubt we'll hear much more from them at this point but i've got a sneaky feeling they are far from showing their hand yet. I've got a work meeting this week which i may or may not be able to glean some info from afterwards. I'll be asking anyway.

Now a few other points people have mentioned.

Yorkcourt are at the back sniggering because all this has taken the spotlight away from them, in fact in some peoples eyes they have been forgotten totally. This is being done intentionally by the council to get them out of the mess and move on.

Sacred Cow has also summarised it correctly but only partially. You see Yorkcourt are already looking to add furher millions to what they have already made. Its obvious 88G are in for this to do the same and seeing as someone has mentioned Thornes Park, I will stake my reputation that when we find out what the full details of what that is, the stench will be just as strong as Newmarket.

Without a doubt there are darker forces at work here and ones that hold a lot of power and are united in one thing, making plenty of cold hard cash. The background dealings will be going on and whilst there might not be anything illegal in that it's pretty disingenuous to say the least. Yorkcourt will just be seeing how this all pans out in the short term but i have no doubt they have plan in place when the timing is right. I'm convinced they will never fund a stadium at Newmarket either way.

The reason for these outbursts are because the silence of the club is really getting under their skins. They see millions of pounds within touching distance and all their devious plans depend on one factor, Wakefield Trinity. The club has and is being used as a ploy, but unless it agrees to their demands they are
stuffed.

They may be stealing media time, you may think they hold all the cards. But the one card that matters, the true Ace is held by the club. They know that and more than anyone MC and CB realise that
.

I'm not as confident as you on this as i don't think our hand is as strong as you do but i hope beyond hope to be wrong. We have that 106 card to play but as time ticks on that card has gone from an ace to a king and will soon be the queen at best. There's a few moves to play either way yet and MC needs to play the game of his life to pull it off. It can be done but the fella is up against it. We have to trust in MC & CB as we have no choice, they have to get a result as the alternative doesn't bare thinking about.

P.S. You may have noticed i have no idea how to multi-quote on this thing! Apologies.

Having read the editorial by long-time Trinity supporter and League Express editor Martyn Sadler, I can only think that he is either one (or all of) the following: toeing the establishment line and placing his empathies with Box, Jeffreys and 88M; Just plain gullible or totally ignorant of the previous history surrounding the whole Newmarket/Belle Vue saga.
Come on, Martyn, a bit more research before you publish articles please.

Sadler loves Trinity - pre 1989.

He still makes a point every now and then of stating his affinity with Trinity. I suppose he can't appear to be too partisan to a particular club when he edits a generic RL paper, Wildthing. He certainly seems to have swallowed the WMDC/88M point of view though.

Whilst this might not have any real legs... the purpose is to divert attention and funds away from the real issue.. taking the council to court for their failure to meet the conditions of the Section 106 and the SOS ruling...

The longer the assailants keep the danger people (MC and CB) tied up and unfocused the less chance they have of inflicting damage to Box and the council. This really is a war and will soon need mobilisation of troops!

It's going to be soon time to fight for your club

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Probably because Carter has rather publically called Sadler out recently for blatantly lying in his rag

If he has lied and printed adverse and biased material negative to Trinity, we should all buy League Weekly. It's a small paper and he would not welcome loss in circulation.

Not seen it myself but it sounds like the report in league weekly was of a similar ilk to the one in league express.

League weekly just include quote from Denise Jeffrey and say MC will be speaking with lawyers before making a statement. Sadler makes ill informed comment despite enough evidence to the contrary been out there if he could have been bothered to look. If he has an affinity for Wakey he keeps it well hidden
