Disappointingly, some of ours are regular "fans" and whilst the vast majority of our fans are well behaved and a credit to the club, just a few are there for their own personal "amusement", rather than supporting the Club. However, for the first time at a non cup final/ major event, I think all Trinity fans were frisked/searched before entering the ground and I actually asked why this was. The steward said there were reports of Trinity "fans" setting flares off in the town centre. So, I believe they were expecting something to happen at the game. It would be almost impossible to find "flares" of the type thrown as they are pretty small and would be easy to keep out of sight.
Spot on mate, in all the years I've been watching rugby league I've never once been searched. Last year at Old Trafford when the queues were a mile long and they just did a quick frisk on the odd person.
Steadygetyourboots I fully understand Cas fans not showing up in numbers, 10 wins on the trot, its simply no longer a contest. We all know who is going to win so its no longer a sporting contest. I think I have seen 8 of the last 10 and only once I have seen Cas have to break into a sweat, its boring, the result is never in doubt.
Two or 3 years ago we had a problem at BV with stewards confiscating opened bottled drinks (including water) at the gates. Hull FC always look in bags at the turnstiles.
