I don't have a go at refs very often, I appreciate it is a tough job. Yet why is it that for so many years now whenever we play Huddersfield (rather than any other team) irrespective of result the ref is always a talking point. I was really frustrated with Kendal a couple of years ago and now it is MickeyMouse (can't spell his name correctly). Some of those decisions on Friday beggar belief.
Also, I remember in days gone by when the ref used to give a visual signal to fans to explain what the penalty was for. I saw very little of that from the ref on Friday so was just baffled or called it completely differently to the ref.
As for our player having the ball thrown at him, he was away from the direct ruck area and crouched down to avoid interfering. I agree with Vastman, there was a change of interpretation last season and most refs would not have awarded a penalty against us because they could clearly see it was deliberate cheating by the Giants' player. Thus is the lottery of which ref you get.
I also agree with the comments about offside. I remember a similar offside not being awarded when we played Leeds at home last year (can't remember who the ref was) and think that decision had a significant bearing on the result too.
