Great photos. I'd love that of course as would most. I think the most important part of your post is the comparison between 20th and 21st century stadia.
Personally I'd rather have a top notch East stand with great facilities and build the rest another day, rather than upgrade everything to a slightly lower level.

Just my opinion of course. This sounds ok, but in practice is fraught with difficulties. A piecemeal build could face many unknowns over years to come. Having already being corrected by DC once this morning on the stadium subject, I guess I’ll have to keep my powder dry and Trust his and John Minards judgment.

Your right, but what choices do we have? The truth is that one new main stand would actually satisfy all the SL ground criteria in one hit. Yes, some safety work would be required for the rest but it makes us safer than a low-level upgrade IMHO.
Worth noting that a fair few NRL grounds still follow these basic criteria, though they are becoming less common. Theses grounds have a highly developed main stand with every imaginal facility, but the rest of the ground is either terracing or even grass banks. With RL now being a summer game! a fully covered stadium is not the must it used to be, though still desireable with the British weather as unpredictable as ever.

A summer game in name only, the 2020 season starts in January, Still remember the Home game v Widnes a couple of years ago, We complain about the open West Terrace at Leeds, I feel for the away fans at BV on cold wet match days.

Again you're absolutely correct but as I say we have little choice as far as I can see.
On the basis that this is a "just for fun" discussion, I'm with the "Benidorm flats go after East Stand" brigade. A small away stand, similar to Salford. West Stand last as you can't see it on the TV, and if you did it before an away stand behind the sticks, it will become the away stand. I want the sides back.
Also, once the East Stand is built, the flats will become redundant, presumably, so will be an empty eyesore (as opposed to the currently full eyesore).
In relation to the Fylde ground, I drive past that pretty regularly, and it does look a cracking ground, but it also attached to an Aldi, KFC, and something else too, which might give a hint as to the funding source.

I don't think the flats need to go entirely. Personally, I'd keep the first two levels and ditch the top two. I'd keep level one as a bar and keep level two as a learning zone/community facility. In front of that, you could place a terrace. I believe the reason we can't put a terrace in front of a four-story structure is a health and safety restriction, I believe that if it were reduced to two that would no longer be an issue, could be wrong. Either way, I don't see why we can't recycle them as they seem to have been well maintained. Certainly, be a lot less ugly if done well and pretty cheap I'd have thought. All hypothetical I know.

Keep the pre-fabs not even Homme Vaste would be foolish enough to suggest that and he has some strange views in my opinion. As for removing the top two floors and keeping the rest not even worth considering. Anyone who has used the unit knows the state it is in, a temporary structure put up in 1999 and still standing 2019 and not looking too good on the inside.
