It was a bit soul destroying but there appeared some ‘shepherding’ going on at the game yesterday by the officials.
I often think it’s down to lack of investment in the training of the officials but yesterday in a number of areas it was hard not to view the way Grant and co referred as impartial.
The time that Catalans were afforded on the floor was diabolical and the constant flops that went unpunished in almost every tackle which allowed their line to be set before we could even struggle to play the ball. In contrast we were penalised with repeated six agains for holding down.
When the linesman and ref missed Gaskell being taken off the ball and the crowd went crazy he gave a six again to cats shortly after when there was no visible infringement was just a two fingers up to the trinity fans.
Yes we started terrible for the first 10-15 minutes but we did sort it out in defence after that but to an extent we were ushered away from good field positions repeatedly.
