Thought Dave got some cynical tackles last night with 3rd and 4th man in attacking planted legs with no protection from the ref.
Just like to add my thanks to him for all his efforts and just being a fine human being and character.
Not to mention the flops that went unpunished. The lack of consistency in the officials decisions last night was striking. I don’t think he even signalled what a number of penalties were for, I’m not sure the referee knew himself at some points. Some bizzarre happenings.
Still not sure what Eseh got 10 minutes for. Not high, didn’t go over horizontal or even close. By all accounts the Catalan player hurt his ribs so maybe Eseh squeezed him too hard.
How the Catalan player who smash dived at Atoni’s knee while he was held by 2 players remained on the pitch I’ll never know. Looked a cowardly dangerous shot.
Obstructions don’t appear to matter at the moment (even even advantage is gained).
The holding down is so inconsistent it’s painful. Griffin tried to play the ball twice but was twice pulled down around 5/6 seconds yet no six again for trinity. A simple 2/3 second holding down next set and ref waves 6 again. Can’t wrap my head around it at all.
That’s not me blaming ref for a loss but more an observation on how I thought the game was referred poorly live.
I will be glad when this seasons over.
