Wakefield and Proud
1) I will not ever go to a Wildcats game in a shard ground in Cas
2) Wakefield as a Football Team Wakefield.F.C., I would rather them move in with us in a new stadium than Castleford, I know they have not got many fans, but ay I'm working on that, I'm Wakefield through and through... WE DO NOT NEED CASTLEFORD or Peter Box...

I would rather our club die then merge with Castleford, NO NO NO ever...!!!

If you think 4 shares or whatever it is, that were GIVEN to him is a conflict of interest etc you'll just get laughed at. Not to mention the council will just see it as a half baked attempt by some desperate Rugby fans, that won't bode well will it?

Much is made of this railway station, but can someone tell me where does it link to? Can you catch the train to there from Leeds? Wakefield? Cas?
I've not been on a train for a long time.

All 3 go to the train station at Glasshoughton, so it's a pretty handy station for a Rugby ground.

Do I have this right. WMDC's position is now that they will throw the weight of the 2 pieces of land behind one stadium only (rather than their previous position of splitting the land to support both stadiums). They will decide which of the 2 plans they will throw it behind based on a feasibility study. The club with the unfeasible stadium are left with a share or go it alone situation.

Gloating already are we?

Regardless of whether he has shares, or not, Box is a Cas fan.

If I was the leader of the Council, I too would be biased, it’s human nature.

But he can never be impartial due to his allegiance to the club he supports, perhaps he will have a statue of himself commissioned, with a big smirk on one of his faces.

The shares are not that important, it's the fact that he is a self confessed lifelong supporter of the Castleford club!
If he had any integrity he would realise that he cannot be impartial or emotionally detached from the issues which will affect the future of that club and would step aside. The fact that he isn't doing so suggests that he has an agenda and wishes to steer events in the direction HE would like them to go in.

Or, if you look at it from a neutral point of view, if you compared both sites:

Better road links? Glasshoughton
Better rail links? Glasshoughton
Better commercial area? Glasshoughton
Furthest along in development? Glasshoughton
Least objectors? Glasshoughton

From the councils point of view, it would be much less hassle, and much better financially, commercially and in terms of less opposition, Glasshoughton is the only choice they can look at.

The fact Box is a Cas fan is nothing to do with it, the fact is the Council has just lost 70m thanks to idiots voting for "Dave" and has left them with NO option but to go with the one stadium that is much better in terms of everything mentioned.
