Playing Tanginoa at prop when he came as a dynamic wide running 2nd rower tells you a lot.
Wouldn't see Warrington playing BMM at prop, when you know how destructive he can be used correctly.
Got Tangata, Kopczak, Arona and King to do that.

Does not say much about a coach who signed him in the first place

You are right but that doesn't apply to either of our Hooker.
Josh has scored a few tries running from dummy half and Kyle uses the tactic a lot when we are on a roll. It's the one thing in our armoury when he comes on.

A bit unfair on my part as I know you were only using the position of hooker as an example and as far as I'm concerned we don't have a problem in that department, but there does seem to be a problem somewhere which is dividing the supporters, injuries are a big concern once again but that as an excuse will only go so far, so for me it's simply the players or the coaching staff, maybe the coach needs to surround himself with more experienced assistants, once again that comes down to that old chestnut finances, on a personal note I seem to have lost a bit of confidence in the coach, maybe the players have also lost confidence in the coach as well, it's a bit frustrating really as after the Wigan game who would have thought we'd play as badly against Catalans, maybe they're a better team than we give them credit for, time will tell and hopefully it will get sorted out sooner than later because it it's not sorted this season then we will have big problems next season.

I know I’m probably in a minority here but I just don’t rate Tanginoa. I think he flatters to deceive. He doesn’t break the line as often a people make out, he can’t pass, his handling is suspect and his work rate in attack is average.

However it’s his defence that I really don’t like. Sure there is the odd blockbuster but generally he’s third man in and easily beaten by more agile players.

He’s not a patch on Ali or the god that was Solomona. Nor is he as reliable as as Kirmo or Ashurst in their pomp.

What I think it boils down to is that for all his physicality he hasn’t got a rugby brain.

Just what I see and I don’t suppose many will agree, but whatever he is he isn’t our saviour imho.

The description could currently be applied to all our players based on current form. The question as always is this down to them becoming worse players or the coaching they receive does not help get the best out of them. The case of Tanginoa is an example he is a wide running second row like the two examples given the problem is Chester plays him at prop to run down the middle. I don’t remember either of the other two quoted were asked to do this hence they played where they do most damage.

Tanginoa is a second rower, but Mr Chester insists on playing him at Prop he is going to get more tired so more mistakes. Why Mr Chester keeps putting square pegs in round holes I do not knowl Tanginoa should be played in the second row to see the best of him ,Know when or if he moves on you will see him play in second row and think why did he not play like that for us .Coaching is the answer

If I were picking a side from our squad

Walker
Greensmith - with a view to being centre cover next season
Lyne
Tupou
Johnstone (Senior)
Jowitt
Hampshire
Arona
K Wood
Kopczak
Ashurst
Tanginoa
Westwood

Wood
Pitts (Bachelor)
Navarette
Fifita - find a way to fix the issue

Miller just doesn’t fulfil the role at half, a bit of show n go isn’t enough also he’s going to get Ashurst injured with his pet short pass play, it’s time for him to kick his heels and contemplate his form or future!
Jowitt is the best organising and passing half we’ve got which is a sad indictment on our recruitment.
Hampshire should be encouraged to take the line on more but be direct and be given greater responsibility for the kicking game which will force him to work on its development and improve it.

My final major decision would be to put the players through a rigorous fitness regime! Mid season isn’t the right time but it’s got to be done as some players are carrying way too much excess. Set a new standard NOW and insist on it being adhered to next season. The forwards should know their optimum playing weight and sanctions should apply if they go above it.

He isn't a wide running forward. He's a big running forward. A wide running forward needs good hands and that is a problem for him.

Ashurst and Pitts have those spots at the moment. If you drop one of those you improve impact but lose tackle numbers.

I like him a lot and would use him as impact of the bench but if he isn't a shoe in fir second row you might as well play him as a prop.

I've no real problem playing him at second row. We gain a lot. But we lose something too. Which is why I suspect he isn't staying in the one position and probably why he couldn't keep a place in the NRL teams despite his obvious qualities.
He's one of our best runners. But he has flaws too.

I hope you mean Westerman.
And Pitts would be one of my first picks. I might even make him captain.
Miller would still play for me though.
