Brian Smith did have a decent record as coach and perhaps only you and he know the actual facts.
Forums are a hot bed of over reaction in both directions, overstating how good things are in the good times and utterly desperate when things aren't going to plan.
At the time I didn't think Chester was the man to put Trinity anywhere near where we currently are but, I'm more than happy to be wrong.
What does seem obvious now is that Trinity and Smith weren't right for each other.
All water under the bridge now and they say "never look back", which seems wholly appropriate.
Onwards and upwards and if we can ever sort the ground issue out, Wakefield would be the envy of much of the RL world.
Also worth remembering that most of the fans were right about Mr Agar
