Business should be done like I said we should not be competing with Leigh Fafita should be sown up now. This will be affecting season ticket sales

Early phased announcements of new signings or even renewed contracts of existing squad players may keep interest high and may help promote season ticket sales prior to people having other financial commitments with Christmas looming...

Anyway looks like Saints are close to signing Walker so hopefully not in the market for Fifita .....

We've signed brierley, symonds and ikahihifo.....
Dan smith will be like a new signing since he only played 15 minutes last year!

The greatest garbage myth on these forums. No it won't, you would need to sign someone of the magnitude of Thurston for that to have an effect - typical of you wanting to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Has it ever crossed your mind that as the lowest budgeted club in SL we have to take what others don't want in which case it's obvious to any bargain hunter that you wait til the last moment for the best deal - again reality check.

Me personally I like it that way as the best won't join us so lets at least sign the hungriest.

Finally in signing Williams and Caton Brown I think CC has made one of his two of his three key signings - I'm guessing the other was Fafita which started last year but seems to have hit a hitch, it happens.

So far Williams, Caton Brown, Hirst and Grix, not a bad haul IMHO even if others are already in moan for the sake of it mode.

Wow, I guessing with such astute business acumen you are a millionaire business tycoon, obviously you must have a few spare £100k lying about you can invest in the club :thumb:

One thing I find hard to understand is that all the players should be back in training within about 3 weeks (I think). I also believe it is our intention to hit the ground running next season and look to gain a few points early in the season. I therefore would have thought apart from the odd player we would want all our squad back in training as a single unit and not have players joining in dribs and drabs. For that reason I would expect that all our signings must be concluded anytime soon.

It is a good haul if you ignore the fact that we have regardless of what some on here think about their qualities lost Hall, Scruton, Anderson and Tansey so far.

Don't agree with you there, I see nothing unusual in the core of the team training already with some to add. Pretty much what happens every year and pretty much every club. Sorry PB but this is a non issue for me and I don't get why it's becomming one. :?

Not sure how Tansey is a loss, and ditto Hall despite his late season improvement.

Scruton is a loss only because we are painfully thin on the ground in that osition especially if Fafita is not re signed.

Re: Five New Signings : Sun Oct 16, 2016 2:22 pm
I will be honest here regarding Hall, Tansey and Scruton. I was never their biggest fans.

I wasnt their biggest fans but think in Brown and Grix think we have replaced tgem quite well.

We havent in my opinion yet replaced Scruton. He would be 3rd or 4th on my list if I was listing our props in quality and effort. England, Fifita and maybe even Simon would be ahead of him.

What he does have is experience at the highest level. With that and the uncertainty regarding Kirmos match fitness following his injuries, could we be looking for a possible new captain for 2017.

With this in mind I think we should make sure we get the right players in rather than the thoughts of Bailey etc.

Get it right in this and we have got the makings of a really good squad.
