we have asked nicely to be part of the SL brand, if we are turned down we just lose the rights to use that brand, in all honesty they dont even need to be open about the criteria, which of course by keeping scoring secret they are not.

Maybe not quite so clear. I believe that the RFL recognise the jurisdiction of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) so therefore clubs can refer disputes here if they feel they have been unfairly treated.
