Not the greatest player but at the time when we were held together by team spirit, guts and good wishes, he was what we needed.
I agree. Let's not play down the fact that he was our strongest competitor in that front row.
If I remember rightly he played his best when partnered with Watene. Apart from that he was often carrying the Trinity standard in his own.
I think people are remembering him when he returned rather than what he was like at his best.
Not perfect but was what we needed back then. Might make 4th prop in the team now.
