What I don't get is the improvement in attack that you expect to see? What else do you want to see from a hard running forward? Props with ball handling skills like James Graham are hard to come by. If Jordan's playing loose I'd argue that in the modern game, the role has developed to practically be an extra prop. So, where and what extra do you want from him?
Seriously? Do you really believe he can’t develop his game? I don’t know the lad but i’m pretty sure he will want to keep improving his game and add more strings to his bow as he goes along. He isn’t the biggest forward going around so if he is going to be the third prop you say then he will need other things in his armoury. He can develop his offload game. His footwork approaching contact and leg drive enabling meters after contact can be worked on. He can develop the lines he runs to cause the confusion in defence. I will guarantee you any coach worth their salt would tell you the same, it’s not criticising him it’s pointing out areas for improvement. Most work places have employee appraisals where the exact same thing happens.
Nobody is saying he should be Jason Taumalolo! The lad is only 22 and has time on his side and it won’t happen overnight. But i don’t want to see him be the next Chris Annakin, bags of effort, loyal as a dog but stagnating and never getting a decent chance to grow into his potential by not getting the one-to-one coaching and quality conditioning he needs and forever being a back-up option playing 10 games a year.
