That's correct.
It may be impacted by Brexit but I would think we'll still just sign up to the same rule as a country outside the EU agreement.

Makes you wonder if you couldn’t do a deal with a Championship club where they register a quota player, give him a few warm up games then loan him to us for the rest of the season. In return we could loan them some players to even out the cost. Players like either Walker or Kershaw would go down a bomb.

It’s unethical and maybe not possible I suppose but if it were I bet Wigan would do it!

Tangata was given an exemption following the situation at Widnes and it lasted for the length of his next contract, so I’m assuming that’s why we took him on loan. As soon as we made him a permanent signing that exemption ended and he counts on quota again.

Barba seems like the exact opposite of the signings that traditionally come good for us. He'll probably be Billy Bigballs and we don't need another one of those. Someone made a point about Mullally on another thread that he hasn't kicked on or achieved what he was expected to. That sounds more like the kind of player we would normally do well with, something to prove and not just coming for an inflated wage.

I don’t believe for 1 second Trinity were in for him to be honest.

Lazy journalism or an agent chucking a few names about to inflate his wage is probably more likely.

I’ve not seen any articles confirming it’s just 7 overseas players but if that is the case that’s brilliant

Just needs to be as simple as poss

They tried to do that about 5 years ago. Think the initial rule said 5 to be lowered to 3 within 3 years.

Players agents threatened legal action due to employment law and in the end nothing changed and we are left with this ambiguity.

Maybe Brexit can resolve that now...but that another topic.

A super talented but flawed individual, but one of the reasons why two of my grandchildren got into RL in the first place .One now playing for Wakefield hawks and the other chomping at the bit to play .If only these people realised how many kids look up to them as a role model and how they influence people’s lives ,would they still go down that path of self destruct. I guess Barba has answered that for me .Such a wasted talent ,and one that lit super league up for all but a very short time .
