A royal or a quality credible politician (if there is such a thing) would be much more influential than someone like a celebrity for this role, but to be fair it isn’t an obvious one.
Princess Anne has attended games in the past I believe maybe a natural replacement however not sure she truly has an interest for the sport in the same way Prince Harry has.

I cannot recall Princess Anne ever attending an RL match, but she is Patron of the Scottish RFU, and has been to Murrayfield on many occasions.
Difficult to fill this role, as there's no obvious choice. The Queen was patron of the RFL for many many years, but was not visibly doing anything to promote our game, and very rarely turned up at Wembley to present the cup.
