I never said that did I. I’m talking on the pitch, that is a different issue and a different thread. I’m certain you’re right but winning on the pitch has to come first. If we can’t beat Leigh now then we will struggle.
So please explain what your point has to do with beating Leigh? You appear to be arguing a completely different issue with yourself. On this occasion finances have absolutely nothing to do with this unless your suggesting we can’t pay the players, are you?
How can you say "it's a different issue", revenue into the club is what allows us to put together a competitive squad.
It's all very much the same issue.
Yes, we want the players that we have to be fit and performing somewhere near 8/10 every week.
Although you accuse me of being negative, I'd go for realistic.
If Trinity are 8th, 9th 10th in the spending list on players then, in a straight line, this would be our finishing position in the table.
Of course, we then add into the mix the ability of our coaching staff, compared to others.
I dont accept that suggesting that we will finish 8th, 9th, 10th is negative or, accepting of mediocrity.
Unless and until we are able to spend something close to the top 4/5 clubs, we have no right to challenge them.
Of course, if we get all of our ducks in a row and put a few wins together, and those bigger spending clubs dont, we can and do beat them.
Anyway, back to the game on Sunday.
We should be making it 3 in a row and we should be beating Leigh by 20+ points but, the uncertainty is what makes sport interesting.
Watching how we cope with the favourites tag and seeing if our progress continues.
It's fantastic to be back at BV and being able to watch a decent game and talking of "luck", our return to playing in front of fans, at home, has certainly helped our cause and with this coinciding with playing some lower ranked clubs, we have a great spring board to make progress up the table.
Am I dreaming of a play off spot ? Not yet but, lets see what happens
