To put the record straight I never said anyone on this thread had abused him I said on social media. Maybe those responsible for those shameful comments should try saying it to his face.
Right decision all round, it will be a massive weight off his shoulders and he very looked a broken man throughout the past 2 years.
A new start for Trinity. It might revive our fortunes,it might not, but it's a positive move to force change and that's is what we've asked for
Surprised he's gone now, but it give Poching a window to showcase himself, but also allows prospective applicants to see how the team go and also hopefully a full off season to drag some improvement out of the team.
Interesting to see all the posts saying he should go and now he has, we wish him well and he has a future in RL………. I think a fair point to mention is it doesn’t matter who is coaching, you can only play with the cards you have been dealt. If we have the smallest budget then surely the rewards aren’t going to be the best. One question, who was the last coach to guide us to 2 top 5 finishes and a challenge cup semi final in their tenure??? I’m guessing not many, so as I’ve always stated, in my opinion, did a great job considering.
Vastman, Poching was alegend at Wakefield the fans loved him and he loved the club Did not ask to leave Wakefield .Went because we were short of cash .The Wakefield fans still sang to him ( nice songs lol) when he was in the Leeds shirt .Think he was with T Smith most of is time as a Coach so he should have some idea how to play attacking foot ball some thing we have not seen for well over 2 years
And what if anything has that to do with him being the right person to coach us, your post makes no sense at all.
Maybe he's making the point that Willie played in a backs to the wall attitude team and if he can get that across to the players, the performances will improve. I would say Willie is probably more passionate about the club than CC.

I don’t think I had an issue with him finishing the season, it’s the talk of an extension which had blown people’s mind!
Yup, that's where I was.
As PT said, he had a couple of great seasons with us and for a while there was great promise. Unfortunately, it never came to be and it was never going to happen again, that was obvious.
If the players react and start to play like they should have done, it will show the root cause was losing the dressing room. If we carry on as badly, then there is a deeper problem.

Don’t see how a wakey lad coming through all the Wakefield youth teams from the age of 10 or 11 district and clubs and supporting the club from being young, cannot be passionate about his home town team. That is a ridiculous statement IMO.
I'll be the first to say it, I'm not sure Poching is the man. Looks for all the world like a deputy, not a sheriff. He comes across as too laid back to me but what the hell do I know and I hope I'm wrong.
On the plus side, much of Pochings career was spent at top teams, Leeds as a player and Warrington as a coach, under a number of top men. So he should at least have the knowledge.
Tony Smith and Webster were two assistants who stepped up and provided a cracking end of season. The year after showed their limitations. Poching likely to be the same, as too long as assistant, which suggests he himself isn't too bothered about the top job either in the long run.
I seem to recall Andy Last did okay at Hull in his brief stint as head coach but I don't know why he wasn't fancied over the top job permanently (as opposed to an Aussie water carrier who was probably more expensive).

Why is it ridiculous? Never said CC wasn't passionate about the club. CC has never been in a struggling team, so is unaware of what it takes to turn a situation like what we are in around. Would say Poching is in a better position to understand and get that Wakefield passion out of the players.
