Injuries and then covid completely knackered things. The only thing was, it became clear that there was no way to return to the success of the first couple of years.
All belief seemed to have evaporated for both him and the squad.
It's hard to believe that we are watching pretty much the same group of players.
The win away at Wire in the cup, without TJ and Johnstone was immense
It's all in the past now and we are thankfully moving forward again.
IF and its a huge if, we can get past Wigan today, there will be a real buzz around the club.
