I really hope he didn't, because this was the one game where the result was more important. If we'd won today, I think we'd be safe, as Toulouse would have had the job of winning three more games than us in a very limited time. On the flipside, they are one win from safety, and now full of confidence.
If that is true, it is an utterly brainless thing to say. Today was only about the result.
It's okay hearing your boss say it when you're at teams like Leeds and Warrington, where you're trying to instil some self-belief for a last push for Old Trafford. When you say it yourself for a game where only the result mattered, you have to wonder what on earth is going on.
