Re: Relegation Confirmed : Sat Sep 16, 2023 8:49 am
We should have advertised the coaching position to see who wanted the job for a start!
Maybe we should have kept the coach who had a winning ratio of around 46%
If we’d got a better more experienced coach we might have made more informed decisions on signings and not ended up with a number of players who were unsuitable for the task.
Maybe we could have brought in a coach who already had relationships with players & agents who might have attracted higher quality players.
Maybe we’d have got a coach who player agents knew they couldn’t have his pants down in terms of players offered and the salaries they demand
Maybe we could have got a coach who other clubs were happy to send loan players to because they recognised his quality would benefit their players

See there’s a theme forming here, it stems from the ridiculous decision to sack Willie Poching then appoint an unproven, naive, not ready, limited, uninspiring cheap option to coach what became the worst Superleague team ever!

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Egg banjo. If you wanted something to change then surely you have to have an idea how to change it. At moment all you do is critise anyone connected with the club with never anything constructive Pro active or any substa ce in your statements. Anyone can simply say we should have changed but still waiting to see what / how you would have changed it.

What would you have done to avoid relegation? Come on, let's hear your fantastic ideas

What are you talking about “vultures” and “gleeful”? This is not some Brexit v Remain discussion this is Wakefield Trinity. All fans love this club in their own way. You trade as the moral compass on this site so stop the name calling and let’s all grieve together with some objective discussion.

I’m absolutely gutted. I’m not gleeful. Not sure who could be at a time like this.

Isn't it funny how one post, not even directed at anyone offends so many poor souls when those same people seem quite happy to do that all season.

I didn't say any of our supporters didn't care.

And I don't get the moral compass comment. You can do what you like. The AUP aren't my rules and I'm not the only one who volunteered to enforce it.
The fact that I don't like people slagging off others is just a personal thing. And I only point out when people do it with incorrect facts. Having an opinion is purely up to you.

Well, the inevitable finally happened.
The players last night certainly gave everything and came within a whisker of pulling off a remarkable victory, it was agonising.

The club have to work out very quickly, what may be possible for next season and the waters are muddied by the immanent change to the IMG grading system.
Weirdly, gaining promotion in the usual manner may not be the right approach. Nowadays its all about box ticking which, for the record, absolutely stinks.

If there is still a deal on the table, including additional funds, this isn't the time to wait.
Please, get the thing signed off and give everyone the best chance of assembling the best squad possible and investing in the requisite number of "plastic" seats (and other box ticking "necessities").

The worst thing would be for the takeover to drag on into next season and leave us beaten before we start.

As far as this season went, we went for a budget coach, budget squad and got what we deserved and for those blaming the fans, who pay good money to support the club, give your heads a shake.

Egg banjo I couldn't do anything differently because I am not involved in the club . However you stated we should have done something so it was a simple question what would you have done half way through a season.

The best of luck to you in the Championship. On reflection it was probably the best thing that could happen to Hull KR at the time. I hope you emulate what they have done since.

You will be back in super league. Just take next season for what it is. You will be able to enjoy games as you will win the championship with ease

Unbelievable all we have to do to stay up is win more than a crap Cas team and we fail. Dismally. To the do-gooders. Can you explain how two so called businessmen can let go a club legend who achieved 11 victories with a poor squad. To then release half that squad without adequate quality incoming. Recruiting a coach with no experience and expect anything less. 25 years of history wiped out sleepwalking into the championship. Thanks all 3 of you.

And Can you explain how a rag tag team of no hopes as people have called them on here can go to a club who have swept virtually all before them and lose by a drop goal in extra time . Blame the directors and the pit cat if you want , but last night showed the team had it in them , but time and time again failed to deliver consistently. Personally it’s a relief and I for one can’t wait for the rebuild to begin after enduring below par performances for far too long .

You should have forced Mr Ego Carter out a few years back, ideally around the time that he and Hudgell spent more time childishly slagging off the Bulls than concentrating on his own club's ailing fortunes. Good riddance.
