We put this festival on you ba****ds With whole lotta love We worked for one year for you pigs And you wanna break our walls down And you wanna destroy Well you go to hell
Not one of the coaches (including Mr Gentle) mentioned so far has the pedigree Kear had when he joined us in 2006. Also IMO only Gentle appears to offer more than Kear did in 2006. Worse still most of them don't even offer what Kear does now, assuming you don't believe the anti Kear claptrap peddled by some on here.
There is an old saying "better the devil you know". I have a horrible feeling that if we choose badly many of the people bright and not so bright may be ruing the day we got rid of him or more to the point replaced him with an inferior dud.
My money is on the clown prince Lupset Airport to be the first to start the bring Kear back wasn't Kear really great campaign - I'm not joking.
Well I would argue that Millwards has more of a pedigree than Kear for a start.
Also, I don't see how you can defend the indefensible this year - particularly towards the latter part of the season - from Kear. Yes, he was the best man for the job at the time, yes he kept us in the league by inspirig the great escape, yes he deserved a medal for what he did but things dont go on for ever. kear is a man motivator, he gets players playing above themselves for short periods of time - hence the great escape, the big efforts against Cas & Leeds (usually) and his cup wins. I don't beleive this method of coaching is sustainable, effort and adrenaline can only get you so far.
His team selections have been baffling for months.
His trasfer activity has been woeful at times (Smith Hickey etc) - althouh I accept we have had a couple of good ones i there too.
Tactics and gameplan seem unfathonable/non existent at times.
Crazy game management and substitutions that appear mad most weeks (2 props spelled after minutes of half time usually)
Failure to develop young players and a tendency for them to stagnate
Signing and picking Jarred Hickey
The time has come for him to move on, with a hand shake and a pat on the back, nothing lasts for ever and (all but the most exceptional) coaches clearly have a sell by date at the club. Now is the time to go - and we have the chance of securing some good quality coaches so we have every oppertunity to get it right, lets hope Glover does do - cos this is the first acid test for me.

Fair point with Mildrid.
As ever you go off on one without understanding. I'm not defending Kear, jeez man has it always got to be so black and white with you.
I'm pointing out that many of the alleged applicants are no better than Kear - that seems a fair enough point
I'm also saying that some of the applicants suggested would make Kear into a martyr at the very least.
I'm also pointing out how fickle some fans are, you a prime example.
I agree, Kear has to go for all the reasons you give. However it remains a pointless or perhaps destructive issue if we get the wrong man - again that seems a fair enough point.
So off your high horse, because if you fall you may break your neck
I disagree. Marketed correctly, a combination of Cummins and Poching (for example) could easily excite the fans and public.
Its not a the big name some hoped for but that was never going to happen, Cummins imo is the man for the job and with a good back room staff will do us proud, hell we need to sort out the players coming throught the ranks and again imo he's the best man for the job.
Agar is a cracking bloke and a pleasure to talk to but for me he's the wrong man. i would question the club if he's appointed as to why they feel he'll take us forward.
After all the meetings and being told time and time again we need to start from junior level up i can't for the life of me understand why they would want Agar.
Neither the club nor a "Gronk" type figure have made any stupid promises regarding who we are likely to get. As long as it's not a comedy figure (Agar, Harrison, Goulding, McCrae etc) then I'm sure we can accept the final decision in a positive frame of mind. If the plans are to set on one of the clowns mentioned above then it would have been a good idea to slip the anouncement out yesterday whilst everyone was laughing at Cas.

For example, and then I type why I disagree. No need to have a hissy fit.
There where multiple options apparently available (Millward, Noble, Powel, Cummings, maybe Morgan, maybe Gentle) all who would be, in my opinion of course, a much better option than Kear for next year - we we have every oppertunity to get the right man, so Glover needs to get it right.
I cant believe Richard Agar is still being mentioned in becoming our coach!!! its like torture this, can we just name somebody else apart from him!! If it was somebody like Francis Cummings he would be a young coach with a clean slate who could take himself and the club forward, I am hoping if it is him or somebody like him with some good investment this could be a exciting new future for this club..
Some talk of Bradford Northern and some of Hull and Leeds Of Wigan and St Helens and such great teams as these Of all the teams in Rugby league with me you will agree The best team in the whole wide world is Wakefield Trinity!

The investments there. JE's already banded around us recruiting another 5 players- Do we have 3 more quota spots free? Hickey and Bluey? If the coach decision does go in favour of Cummins he should be asking his mentor (Smith) to recommend some players and go to Oz with with the angle of selling himself as being the former student of Smith- A man who's still very respected down under.
Nobody can doubt the quality of his training & focus on player/youth development are reported to be outstanding. Also his abilities have been publicly mentioned by all he worked with (Smith and Noble)- we all know how hard it can be getting praise from our superiors!
JC has a very good reputation with SL players, with our clean slate and much improved backroom staff this could be a perfect match. Don't get me wrong I would still prefer Gentle- even if it was just for 1 year with JC in the seat next to him, waiting that final year!
