Re: Moving From Belle Vue.. : Sun Jul 24, 2016 6:33 pm
We have let it get into the state it is by not investing in even basis maintenance. We have let it reach the stage where the costs to bring it up to standard is now prohibitive to those in charge and they do not want to spend the money. I guess they prefer to hand the responsibility to the directors of Dewsbury.
I Think they actually need to ask the supporters or at least explain to us why they need to move because they may not like it but they have to take the supporters with them and currently I am not sensing this is the case. It may sound like the most logical thing to do for them but being a Wakefield supporter you are not logical. These decisions cannot keep being made without consultation.
Over to you Jinjer to post that I am once again having a go at the boss. I did note he gave me the options to provide the answers but like 99% of us I don't even know what the questions are.

Scarlet I used to like some of the stuff you used to post but I think you are totally wrong about BV. It needs a little more than investment it needs totally flattening and rebuilding. Its a ground built and designed in the late 1800's and not fit for the present times. Carter Glover etc can't be blamed for not spending a small fortune in a facility they do not own. Give Carter a bit of slack, his hands are tied with BV and Dewsbury is the only way forward as far as things stand. We need BV buying back, plus superbowl, plus about £10M for upgrading. If you think all that is realistic taking into account the track record of Yorkcourt, then by all means have a go at Carter.

Does anyone know if MC has asked the RL for help in maintaining the most historic of grounds. If so it is another secret we haven't been trusted with . MC TRB etc treats supporter as if they are children who are not to be trusted. We are expected to just turn up every week wherever he decides to take the club and meekly buy our season tickets shirts pies lottery tickets beer etc and not ask questions. Well someone should tell him this is the entertainment business and the customers needs to be listened to and this customer and many long time supporters like myself will NOT be going to Dewsbury .

I admit it is a dump but it has certainly not been helped by the fact that we have spent nothing on it for the last few years. I guess we have hoped that someone would have bailed us out. How do you know Dewsbury is the only way forward in fact how do you know anything because we are always kept in the dark.
I don't know what H&S require us to do or the cost do you, if so please enlighten the rest of us. All I know is that those in charge want to move to Dewsbury to relieve themselves of any further responsibility.
Today we would have lost the revenue from over 1300 supporters but if there is no other option please have the decency to explain to us why.

Belle Vue is unfit for purpose and I would go as far as saying unsafe for modern day sporting stadia I understand MC stance on this as I wouldn't want it on my guilt if anything happened. I don't take the kids to matches were there's going to be a big away following and that's wrong for the club and the kids. Is Belle Vue better than Dewsbury? Dewsbury would be easier to manage but it have to be short term I love our City and our club and it needs to be in the City.

Would you go to Dewsbury if it was only until new stadium in Wakefield was built?

The Answer is yes but thats clearly not the option unless you have your head in the clouds.

Re: Moving From Belle Vue.. : Sun Jul 24, 2016 7:59 pm
We have let the ground decay because we thought Yorkcourt and the council were going to gift us a brand new state of the art facility but the economic climate was always against this. We would have had more chance applying to the National Lottery or even the National Trust for money to preserve an ancient monument . In a few years time I can see a mosque being built on Belle Vue and the club will be playing to crowds of 2000 at Dewsbury and unable to spend even half the salary cap. Inevitably the championship will becon and someone will suggest a merger with Dewsbury Rams and Dewsbury Trinity will be born and MC can sleep soundly again .

Love this admiration for Belle Vue if every fan had turned up when the modifications were being done then it would have shown how much it means to everyone but no only a handful did and it says a lot when one is 10 years old. The ground is a mess and no one will put money into it I fear that yorkcourt have no intention of doing so its just another stalling tactic from them and I'm fed up of this talks are at a delicate stage.
