As i thought alot of people on here who was hyping this game up would slag the team off if the result went the wrong way..credit to GET EM ON SIDE REF,WAKEFIELD NO1 FAN and a few more for sticking behind the team no matter what the result was (which is what we need this year). Very hard conditions today and well done wakefield for putting in 100%. Was very dissapointed with alot wakey fans walking out with 20 minutes to go. Least you could do is clap them off so they have something to fight for... at times id rather 5000 proper wakey fans turn up and support win or lose rather than 6500 turn up to moan about how we play and walk out before the games over. Play the game first then say its easy to play in these conditions and under this amount of preasure... WELL DONE WAKEY HEADS UP
Spot on, the one thing your going to get with a young, inexperienced team, is inconsistency and today was one of those days. I think it's clear to all fans and staff at the club that, to get a little more consistency to the team, we need those new signings sooner rather than later, were seriously missing some go forward, which wasn't helped by missing King today and as we all know we desperately need a guy to control the game for us and get us round the field. I thought all week that people may react negatively, if the lads got beat today and that seemed to happen a little from where I was stood and also from a few of the comments on here, but we can't get too down on the lads and keep things in perspective. Whatever happened, I'm still looking forward to see how this team develops over the season and I'm already looking forward to the next game. I thought the attendance today was pretty good, for a game against Salford, with only a week of planning, in awful cold weather, hopefully if we can beat previous years figures against all the sides this season it will be some achievement.
one thought.................in hindsight was this the right game to do the 10 quid deal?? Salford as opposed to say wire in a fortnight??? give team 2 more weeks to bed in, bit more of a glamour fixture?
not having a go before im burned at the stake.........
IF I,m not mistaken, Wire in a fortnight is on sky so hope the lads gell in time for that one, cos after seeing wire take saints apart, it could look really bad to the RFL and their paymasters at Murdochland!!!
Well,we all knew this season was going to be tough with the squad we have. Most of the players have youth on their side and should improve with experience, also i would hope they will gel better, again given time, its early days. Extremely disappointed JK didnt give Harvey the stand off role today, weve only got the guy for one month ,whats the point of taking him on loan if not to play him? We still need to work on our defence,in particular was disappointing to see Dean on three occasions lose out in defence when one on one. Surprised at some suggesting Rinaldi has M.O.M,his option taking and distribution was poor, more so on his return for a stint in the second half.. Johnson,Henderson & Morrison were the pick of players for me today. Unfortunately its glaringly obvious were we are struggling/or will struggle, lack of punch in the pack and no creativity in the halves.
 yes many of us were disappointed at the way how korky was the only pack member who actually needed grounding by force.....FFS sometime i dispair
Wow... It took some great force to ground him on the six occasions he actually took a drive in... In his first spell he took about 2 drives... where Johnson took double figures in the same period. In the first 10 minutes of the second half he only took 1 drive before coming off, compared to the the likes of Hendo and Gleds taking 5 or 6... Better get to spec savers Mutley cos your watching a different game fella...

I wondered about that one, then I thought about the tricky position we are in with our half-backs and hookers!
We have loads of options - Lee / BJ / Rinaldi / Hyde / Harvey / Davey / Wildie / Smith - that's absolutely tons - but do any of us know who the first choices are? Are there really any stand outs in there, or do we have a collection of 'average' players who would be - at best - the back up players anywhere else. And do some of them feel that they are better than that? And do we upset any of them if we then suddenly pick a young player with no-first team experience, but one who just might, might, be brilliant?
I think there are some tough choices ahead for John and Beans - unfortunately that is probably one area where many people think John has a weakness.
The big positive from the game was Gledhills whole hearted enthusiastic display and if he's up to playing week in week out he should be in the 17 every week.
Mariano was also another big positive and I hope he can continue to build in confidence as the weeks progress.
George looked bright, sharp and offered a threat on a few occasions.
Johnson did what Johnson does, can't fault him.
Morrison, as good as he was last season, looked like a player who suddenly 'gets it' and understands what it means to be a Wakefield favourite and what's expected when the decks stacked against us.

Spot on
You can probably had Moto Tony to that list as well. What we have at wakefield is a massive squad of average at best players. I think we would be better with a smaller squad and a bit more class
