Part of the point i'm making with Hadley is, the loan system is now being 'abused' for want of a better word in my opinion. It was originally brought in when a team had a genuine injury crisis, and a couple of clubs would help out with a couple of players for a month or two, that wasn't why we got Hadley was it. What is dual reg. for?? As for Jowitt, if he's deemed good enough by the best team of last season to get into their starting 13, then if he goes, good luck to him, him playing for them is not going to stop us from winning games is it? I'm not entirely convinced that Chester sees him as the replacement for Grix when he does finish, but that's just it, we will find out in due course whether he will be the one who takes over the full back role permanently.
Poor comparisons using Fifita and Ashurst. Can't really think of a player on our books similar to Jowitt. Hero to zero in 18 months.
I'm sure Widnes fans will be delighted if Cas just fancy Hanbury for a bit eh?!?! You can't just go looking round all the clubs and say, yeah we'll have him for a bit, and him for a bit longer......every team announced their squads for the season, they've had an off season to add players, unless you have a major injury crisis, you should be made to go with what you announced as your squad. So you'd be happy if Wigan fancied Fifita for a couple of months, and then throw in Ashurst for good measure! The game's in a bad enough state without clubs just picking up players left right and centre when it suits them!
I'm not sure anyone is suggesting that clubs can just go out and take someone else's players when they want. What they are perfectly entitled to do however is approach other clubs and enquire whether said player might be available for a loan period if they feel that they need some cover there. The club who owns that players registration has every right to tell the enquiring club to do one if they so wish. I would hope that if Wigan came and knocked on our door saying "Can we loan Fifita for a month please?" we would tell them where to go. With us choosing to run a reserves team as well, I would rather our players played in that comp for us to keep them match fit, but if clubs are not running reserves and have players that are not currently in their matchday squads but they want to see them maintain their fitness then loaning them out might be a good idea.

Hadley wasn't brought in as cover, he played and started virtually every game, whilst Annakin & Crowther twiddled their thumbs for the most part. Hadley was great for us, a really good player who will now probably play for Hull week in week out, I just don't agree with the principal of it, it's plain wrong.

That's quite a bizarre comment. The lad has a future in SL, absolutely no doubt and but for the fact that Grix is playing right at the top of his game, surely Jowitt would be getting the gig, which seems an ideal scenario, keeping pressure on Grix and keeping Jowitt hungry for when his chance comes. The one mystery in all this was the 2 games at Salford last season. Jowitt was probably MoM in the league fixture but, was replaced by Grix for the cup game, where he had probably the worst game he's had in his second spell. I know it's all water under the bridge now but, Jowitt would have grown massively in confidence from his league performance and could really have put a marker down for the #1 jersey if he's been given the gig for the cup game. I thought he was really unlucky. And for the clown who suggested that Jowitt was a poor defender etc, someone should lend him the DVD of that game. His offload to set up the try in the second half was superb.
Ohh well, maybe Wigan, Cas, whoever will fancy Grix for a bit then Jowitt can get back to where he was two years ago!!
What an extraordinary attitude towards the loan system; you do realise that the host club is perfectly at liberty to say, no, he's not available for loan?
If sending Max out on loan helps his game and development, why not? No matter who it is and if it's a SL team, all the better. Also to suggest that we shouldn't have loaned Hadley last season is ridiculous. When a player like him becomes available to play for us, you jump at the chance. Annakin is a good player but not Hadley and Jordan is still a pup and probably learnt quite a lot off how Hadley plays. I think if Cas are desperate and prepared to flash the cash, Evalds will probably be available later in the season.

What's extraordinary about my attitude? Feel free to enlighten me! So here's the scenario then.......'Hey, how's it going? Fancy lending us Max Jowitt for a bit? Ermmmm, why do you want him? Well 'cause basically we f****d up during the off season by not replacing Hardaker. Ohh ok......no, get lost.' Do you think we approached Hull for Hadley when we had Kirmond, Ashurst, Arona, Batchelor, Crowther all fit and raring to go after we had played the massive amount of 1 game last season?! Like I've already said, the loan system is being abused, in Hadley's case purely for financial reasons, unless someone can correct me on that.
