Yeah it's been amazing watching probably our best squad in super league slide toward oblivion, with Agar mk2 in charge.

But we are still moving forward, even with the smallest spend and the ground issue.
Problem with a lot of fans, is they expect to compete with the big clubs on a regular basis, after one good season.
A club like Wakey needs to build slowly and if fans can't understand that, then they're not fans.

I agree there Egg Banjo, certainly a season to forget.

All this, with the best squad we have had in super league.

One more thing about Leeds, dont know how feasable this would be, bit could Sir Kev come out of retirement to aid their cause

Probably not, but it probably could go a bit like Saints v Trinity game on Sky a couple of weeks ago. 2 dodgy decisions against Trinity when Ref didn't go [and should have, in my opinion] to the video ref. Then one when Saints "scored" a dodgy try which ref gave as a no try on the field, but was overturned by the video ref.
Even CC had a word with Steve Ganson a day or two after the match regards the refereeing and lo and behold, said referee's next game was in the Championship.
Make no mistake, Trinity will have all the odds stacked against them this evening, a massive crowd behind Leeds, return of prodigal son Sir Kevin Sinfield for first home game in charge. Leeds are not far off been back to full strength, and with a run of 8 successive defeats, the law of averages would probably say they are due a win.
Only a massive 100%, 80 minute performance by Trinity will give us the two points and keep us in the hunt for a top 8 spot.

I disagree.

We have been saying all year that we want a settled half-back pairing. We had one, Finn and Miller, the one that served us so well last year. It never quite got going again, perhaps one season too long for Finn, so he has to try something he wasn't expecting to try. He tries again, but still not quite going like last year, so once more he tries something new. It's hard to criticise Chester for trusting what went so well last year, and it's hard to know whether someone is not quite what he was until games start proper.

If he had ditched the Finn and Miller combo from week one, to get Hampshire and Miller to gel, people would have been for his head for that, because he'd have ditched the winning formula. On a hiding to nothing.

At worst, it's just turned out Finn has lost some pace, and we've had to readjust.

Hes never had any pace he was not good enough in 2004 and hes never being good enough Powell saw that
Finn has never done it for me scrum half is the weak link and has being for 3 seasons

IF we could win our next 3 games, this could still be our best SL season EVER

You are Eddie Hemmings, and I claim my £5; I'll be playing a game tonight - every time Eddie says that, or refers to "Sir" Kevin Sinfield, I'll punch myself in the face - some people might enjoy that image.

I can see Leeds turning us over tonight - we're so scratchy and lacking fluency, and despite the best squad in living memory on paper, we just don't deliver on anything like a consistent basis; Leeds on the other hand, despite a dreadful run, have talent, can remember how to win, and will have some kind of bounce-back after Uncle Bri's departure. It's a fairy tale script, and in these situations, we are often the willing plot vehicle to ensure that everyone lives happily ever after.

More doom and gloom - and I'd be very happy to be proved wrong.

I hope Tom Johnstone takes the outside option a few times tonight if he receives the passes.

We're all Trin aren't we?

Re: Leeds : Fri Jul 13, 2018 8:35 am
I don't understand the mentality of some posters on here - making out that dirty Leeds are world beaters....

Their form has been dog poop for the last two months and some on here think they are going to turn into the Saints tonight.

Granted, we haven't been playing that well - but we have been winning games and on current form should beat them tonight - and I think we will.

Looking forward to being there to see it.

Up the Trin!

I think the point that 'some posters' are making is that we don't really have a 'current form' - we're up and down like a bride's nightie - which throws the form book out the window. We should beat them - but despite losing their last 8, our inability to deliver anything like a consistent performance, makes it far from a given.
