Patton has shown flashes of being a quality player, but there is a sense that his face doesn't fit at Warrington and that his confidence is shot. Perhaps he showed the promise at too young an age, so he got a little above himself. We're good with second-chance players, and he would go well with Hampshire, in my view, if he gets his confidence back.

I think we have too many of those players in our team that show flashes of being quality players, It is frustrating - We need consistent performers, especially those players in the spine!!

Totally agree with this. We need heavy investment at 7 and maybe even 6 and 9.

Patton is another average halfback and unfortunately we have a few of those.

Hi there Mopsey,

May be way he is laughing is because of his cosy 5 year contract and the knowledge that he his getting paid a nice wage compared to some others.

Its only my opinion but I also agree with your views about Patton. However, to put a positive slant on it, Powell has signed many a player that also fits that description and yet seems able to turn limited flashes of quality into constant quality. The squad is full of them at Cas so with the right coach and the right environment such players can blossom.

However as things stand at our club at the moment we could make the Aussie national side soon look less than average once chester and clogger had them a month or so.

Haven't read the thread but it seems to me that Jowitt is a much better half than full back, him and Miller should be fine but to link it together Gareth O'Brien at FB would be available for an absolute steal. He has played well for your arch rivals and has bags of experience.

As I said earlier, IMHO Sam Williams could be that man ??
He isn't getting a gig at the Raiders at the moment and could he potentially be interested in coming back to us if he is more or less guaranteed the no. 7 shirt ??
