He claims to pay tax on his UK earnings but then goes on to say he earns money in many countries because of where he races and as such he pays taxes in several different countries.
His tax affairs are shady. He doesn’t pay what he should. He isn’t alone in that but to then have the audacity to tell us to contribute to charities in the UK is hypocritical.
Getting a £3.3m tax rebate by moving his private jet to the Isle of Man is one of many many examples of his tax avoidance tactics.
I also think the political climate had a significant over riding influence over his historical tax avoidance in relation to his Knighthood.
Wonderful driver without doubt one of the best ever but he is a hypocrite.
Personally motorsports don’t do it for me but each to their own
