I think this subject has come up a few times in the past KK, and apart from marketing via social media, is something that does let the club down, and in part I do agree.
Sadly, marketing, is in a way speculating to accumulate, which isn’t the Wakefield way. I did, back in 2016, send things through to both MC and CB, as to how they could possibly generate more revenue. It got a more positive response from CB to be fair, and he thought they could work. I even touched on having functions on in the week in the clubhouse, so that it could possibly make money 7 days a week. About the same time, I spoke with Dav Longo on some of these, as I was putting it all together, and again, he thought they were a goer. He said that he would be surprised if they got listened to.
However, like also stated, there is no substitute for success on the pitch. If we can get back where we were in 2017 and 2018 on the pitch, and keep that consistency, along with the stadium upgrade, then i think the crowds will steadily increase. It will take time though.
