Sorry but I have to disagree there. He made some decent yardage and got that late try but really topped the error count too. Difficult to pick a stand out player but Lino was fired up and lively all game and one of the few who I don't recall dropping a single ball or missing a crucial tackle.
It was good to see TJ score a power and balance try rather than his usual 90 metre coast-in.

In a way I agree with you both, very hard to pick a stand out player, but the only one of the backs that looked capable of making a straight break was kershaw. Equally his defence at times is woeful, Lino had one of his better games. Difference betwreen 2 poor sides was the craft and skill of mcshane at hooker - despite some decent darts from Kaye and the cross kick from Walker we have suffers from a lack of quality at hooker all season and last night was no exception.

Is the whole cas away end classed as the legal smoking area?

The only thing more horrendous that the gob fulls of fag and e sig smoke was the match

Which was grade A garbage

The Trinity fans being split, with half taking cover from the rain and half behind the sticks mad it a vey subdued atmosphere and like the fans, I dont think the team had enough belief that they could win until it was too late..

How close was the late disallowed try - I thought we'd scored

Some of Childs interpretations of the rules were once again, quite unique

I’m going to have to stop reading Sky Sports the day after a loss, especially a derby loss. They just love it don’t they.

Crazy distance between Pitts and Lino for their second try, couldn’t quite decide who was at fault as it looked as though Pitts almost rushed out but couldn’t be sure.

Some very stoppable tries to be fair, Jowitt stops Olpherts if he hits him right. The attempt was a little high but Jesus did Olpherts stop in his tracks.

Gotta give credit to Brad Walker, fast becoming one of my favourites in a Trinity shirt. Class every time he puts the jersey on, very level headed and mature. Would like to see him and Hood form a partnership next year.

The no try at the end was the correct decision, made by the in-goal official, but if someone with longer arms had been there who knows. I'm still not clear what happened at the end. Both sides lined up ready for the drop out and Child just blows the whistle and walks off blanking eveyone.
It threw it down as we queued to get in but it didn't really rain much during the game.

Childs is a full weight lover. The wife went mad with me when I came in last night telling her all the disease and pestilence I wished would befall him.

Re: Versus Cas : Sun Aug 22, 2021 2:36 pm
I would remind us that Rome wasn’t built in a day. We have won one game and despite the loss we were at least competitive. This is the best we can realistically hope for at this early stage. I believe that with the time left this season is all about generating confidence in the supporters for next. I bet we are all looking at any signings with greater enthusiasm because we know that they will not be tarnished by the negativity of our previous coach.
I saw his interview which confirmed he still does not understand why he was sacked, he did admit that he was not able to motivate all the players but did not accept that slagging them off at each after match interview was probably not a good idea for moral. He sadly thought that the offer of a new contract showed he had time to turn things around but it was more to do with friendship and loyalty. This is quite honourable by MC but for many it had become obvious that there was little chance this was going to happen. The negative comments after the final straw which was the Huddersfield game it became obvious that friendship is no good in a business. The loss of revenue became an obvious outcome if Chester remained but to mitigate this we agreed to honour his contract for a further 12 months.
I just hope that the further away from the influence of his coaching we will see a steady improvement on the field. I don’t expect miracles but to return to a team that give their best each game and play for each other will do this season and then start with renewed optimism next.

Yes it was a strange old scenario with how the fans stood
We were on the open terrace, kind of in the middle of both fans
Some decent banter although one of the cas fans (assume he was a bit inbred or very drunk, was hard to tell) was calling directly across us (while puffing on his E sig constantly) that the Wakey fans were inbred

Yes the late try miss was a heart breaker
Although we were never in the match till the final ten mins

You set off really well with a touch of positivity and should have left it there, Chester has gone now and should be out of your system already, why do you want to constantly slate the man for whatever reason at every opportunity, the only thing that surprises me about your post is you haven't managed to link it with good old Boris.

He's moved on. So should you.
Your anti Chester posts were getting a bit boring 3 months ago. We certainly don't need it now.
Willie Poaching is the coach. Focus on that maybe.
