This is an intriguing and sensible idea.I remember us (Hull KR) doing a "marquee player fund raiser" at the end of 2019 for the start of the 2020 season. Just before covid. It was fans only initiated with an "initial" target of 100k, it raised about 7.5k which fell flat on its face .
Wakefields proposal sounds a lot more bang for your buck though to be honest and if you've done 5k in 24hrs that's actually very promising, genuinely hope it goes well as the sport needs lifting in general with stronger clubs all round and let's face it the whole comp needs to bridge the top to the rest.
I do kinda shudder to think where Hull Kr were 3 years ago to where our plans are moving forward from our news yesterday, lightyears apart.
