Exactly, the forwards and some backs have over 100 metres and we find ourselves on the opposition line fairly regular.
The issue isn’t the forwards or the metres gained. The issue is the pivots and the lack of attacking plays and ability to break a team when we are camped on their line. Couple that with some poor discipline late game (probably out of frustration we can’t break a team down).
People saying the issue with forwards clearly haven’t been watching. 90% of our conceded try’s have been on the edges or with defending kicks.
We were continually on Leeds line but for a poor error or poor 5 drives and turn the ball over.
What you say about the pivots is correct, there has been a complete lack of creativity. But to say the forwards have been making over 100 meters is just wrong. Whitbread has been our best by a mile, hit a 100 once and near as damn it one other time. Battye hit 100 against Leeds, before that he hadn’t got anywhere close. Nobody else up front has got near in any game. The backs have made good meters on our exit sets but the forwards not so much in the middle of the park when setting up position. We are bottom of the meters made table, bottom of the average gain table and also the tackle bust stats. The go forward just isn’t there. We regularly lose the ruck when we eventually get into good ball resulting in a slow play the ball giving less time and space for any creative play. Defensively the forwards have been ok no doubt it but with the ball much less effective.
Just watched the match on TTV and it lifted my gloom slightly.Sure,it wasn't good, and 26-0 is a bad defeat, but the performance wasn't as bad as I expected after reading the comments on here.We desperately need to cut out the silly errors and penalties, but there is definitely something to work with and the players, imo, are giving their all for the coach. The defence is not far off, and if we could just carve out 1 or 2 tries it could make all the difference. On the plus side Atoni played better and Kaye doesn't look out of place at fullback. The main downside for me is Lino and Procter.Mason was poor again, and the annoying thing is he can be a match winner, we know he can because he's done it,more than once.Kevin is trying like hell, but not achieving much.He just isn't up to speed, and whether he can can get there after some more matches, or whether he hasn't got it anymore is debatable. Three matches without scoring is utterly depressing, and if someone say's I'm clutching at straws I won't argue with them, they may be right, but that's how I see it. UP THE TRIN!!!

I’ve had a look around the stats and I’m absolutely fine with Whitbread and Battye, Whitbread is the top tackler in the league, and Battye average gain is great, both there or there about at 100 metres which is fine. Atoni’s stats are atrocious. He does an average of 8 carries a game at an average of 50 metres gained a game. If those stats carry on he’s simply a waste of a quota spot. I’m sick to death of seeing him blowing out of his booty after literally 10 minutes with hands on hips. It’s simply not good enough, I’d rather play rob Butler who played really well against Catalan. I don’t expect Atoni to be like Paul Vaughn, but stats don’t lie and a average of 50 metres a game we might as well of spent that money on a half decent stand off and got a prop from the championship who’d blitz them stats.

Battye was good against Leeds, the other matches he averages out at about half those stats. He needs to keep that Leeds form going now. Agree completely about Atoni, a real disappointment so far. He seems to be coasting and needs to up his game.
Proctor is another we need more from. Defensively he’s doing ok and putting the work in but he isn’t offering the same with the ball. He is i understand there or thereabouts our highest earner and for me should be a stand out. Maybe it’s because he is playing out of his natural position but he’s not doing anything Jordy Crowther couldn’t at present.

We should of been 18-0 up at HT with the amount of time we spent on their line. We were the dominating team for large periods, Leeds were very sloppy and we made it up field with ease. Gaskell injuring himself just before half time and Langi just after changed the momentum of the game. We then got absolutely annihilated with penalties. It was a very frustrating game as I thought if we could of actually broke the deadlock then we’d have a chance of getting the 2 points. We are just so slow with ball in hand. We look like an attacking team from a different decade with ball in hand. No shapes, no structure and obscenely slow.
Not sure if its been airbrushed/messed with but theres a picture of renouf on sidlines waiting to come on when newman scores and hes laughing.if it is real (and im not saying it is)then thats not good

Even if its real you have no idea what the context is. Mischief post if you ask me.

It may well be a mischief post i would tend to agree with you but if it is real what context can it be in the try that killed the game and a player waiting to come on is laughing its not good PT, i know you will always defend everything no matter what but its certainly no laughing matter how many people on the terrace were laughing i wasnt

It’s usually something a Leeds supporter will have shouted and he is just laughing it off. I think we have enough problems without worrying about this incident.
